After searching for over a year for mid century furniture to complete my living room, I found this set on Amazon. I was reluctant to purchase furniture sight unseen, but the price was very reasonable and it looked really nice, so I decided to take a chance.

Ordering was, of course, a snap, and I was able to schedule delivery during the check out process. There was a bit of a snafu with the delivery company, but after a few phone calls I was able to get the furniture delivered on schedule (approximately 4 weeks after the purchase date).

I bought the sofa and love seat, and each piece came in a large box. Assembly consisted of sliding the backs in place and attaching the legs (4 on the love seat; 5 on the sofa). The legs were a bit tricky, as they have to be turned the right way in order for them to be at the correct angle once the piece is sitting upright. It would be helpful if the legs were marked to show you which way they go, but after a few trials and errors, I got them in place. Assembly of both pieces took less than half an hour.

The furniture looked great once it was set up. The fabric is slightly lighter in color than what it looked like in the picture, but overall it was what I expected. The first thing I did after setting the furniture up was to Scotch guard both pieces, as I have pets and kids.

The thing I was most concerned about with buying furniture -- especially mid century style furniture -- without trying it out was whether or not it would be comfortable. Mid century furniture, both originals and reproductions like these, tend to place style over comfort. And, indeed, these pieces, while they look great, aren't overly comfortable. They are fine for sitting on: the cushions are medium firm, and the seat cushions are deep (which is good for someone tall like me), and the sofa is a great length for stretching out on. Unfortunately, however, they really aren't comfortable for sleeping. The fabric is a bit rough, and there just isn't enough give to the cushions to sink into them for a nap.

The fabric is very attractive, and since I treated the pieces, they are easy to keep clean. But the fabric tends to snag pretty easily, and I am constantly having to grab the scissors to snip of strings.

Overall, for the price I would say these were worth a shot. They look great and really complete the mid century look of my living room. But they're not all that comfortable, and based on what I've seen so far, I don't think they will hold up that well to use over time. I'll probably keep them for a few years and then replace them
