The best thing about this shave cream is the smell! If you use this as normal like other shave cream you will literally get no protection and it will disintegrate right off your face. If you use the very minimal amount of water you can get a cream if you whip it well and it actually works very well protecting and conditioning your face.

This is an amazing shave cream - seriously - made me enjoy shaving again. This particular one doesn't foam like regular shave cream, and that's ok - it isn't supposed to. The blades glide over your face so nicely when this is applied - it seriously is the best cream I have tried. The scent is mellow, not harsh or perfume-y, which is great as strong scents give me headaches. Two thumbs up - buy it and you won't be disappointed.

Lovely stuff, the scent isn't too masculine. I used the advised amount and quickly got a large amount of foam. This dissipated somewhat after applying, as stated in the instructions, but it made for a fantastic close shave. I used the amount recommend and had more than enough to shave my legs. I will try a smaller amount next time.

Black Ocean shave cream from Viking Blade is yet another great product. It has the same low luster lather, a very slick and smooth razor glide as with their Sandalwood product. Both are excellent accompaniments to and great shave.
As for the low luster. The folks at Viking Blade pride themselves on the fact that one does not require a "Santa Clause" thick lather to provide a medium for the close shave. I agree. This product moisturizes, while providing a thin layer of protection with a very slick feel. The razor seems to glide effortlessly; no nicks, no burn.
If you are looking for a slightly thicker lather. I find building a lather in a shaving bowl as oppose to going directly to one's face works best. (For me anyway) I also use a little less water than one might use with other products. The lather is smooth and very light.
As for the scent; it's light and breezy.

For some reason this started as a love hate relationship. One day I had a great shave and other day it was hurting my skin. I got an email from the owner and he swears this is the great product and he stands by it. That made me give it another shot. Since then I got to used to it and totally enjoy my shaving routine. I had to get to used to how much water and how much cream and how long should the cream stay on. As of late every shave is smooth and effortless, actually very enjoyable. The blade just glides on my face easily and I do not fill any pressure when whisker are being cut. That is true the cream evaporates in minutes leading one to think that the shave will not be smooth, but could not be further from the truth, the shave is very smooth.I would recommend this product to anyone and will purchase it again when finish.
