Crappy hanging mechanism

The screen does a great job of providing privacy from other viewers. My biggest complaint is the stickers they provide to attach the screen to you computer. First, the stickers are not the ones shown in the the directions. The stickers provided would not hold my screen on and it kept falling off. The clips would not even function either so that wasn't an option. I contacted the seller and told them that they were not the same stickers and that they didn't work. The seller responded quickly and said they recently switched stickers and would send me new ones (same ones I already had). Ok great, but this still continue to not hold the screen on even doubling up on them. I would invest in another way of attaching it to your monitor. EDIT: The company has refunded me in full, which is good customer service. The product, however, is still only 3 stars.

I ordered this to attach to a Sceptre 32" curved monitor and it attached perfectly. There are no issues with standoff or the ability to adequately view the screen. It will darken the screen a bit, but that is expected. The adhesion is great and completely invisible using the supplied adhesive strips. Now, no one sitting across from me can see what's on my monitor.
The first screen that I received had a slice through the packaging and screen (assumedly from the warehouse unpacking it since the shipping box was great and provided adequate protection). I emailed the company listed on the package and got a no-hassle replacement extremely quickly. I was very impressed by their customer service and would recommend this product solely on that. But it is a great product as well. You can purchase without hesitation.

I bought this because Amazon limited my purchase to just one 3M privacy filter about the same size while on sale. I needed two. Both work well, though the adhesive strips with the 3M filter are definitely superior since they're invisible. The Akamai filter is also excellent but its adhesive strips show through a little bit on the edges, which isn't a problem, just a tiny bit unsightly.
By the way, what is Akamai doing in the privacy filter business? They started out making video compression software services for websites (a la the fictitious company in the Silicon Valley TV show) but then they segued to privacy filter? That's also odd like an episode of Silicon Valley. Akamai executive meeting: "Look, our revenue and profit are down, so we need to branch off into privacy filters -- you know, sheets of small plastic that sell for frigging $60 and as much as $150, actually more than the cost of many flatscreens nowadays. In phase 2 we'll sell hotdogs, coffee and shoelaces until our video compression software business picks up."

If you're like me, you got those nosey coworkers who like to peer at your monitors as they walk by. Listen, if I wanna be on Buzzfeed all day checking out what kind of pizza I am, that's my business, not yours. Tired of clicking the minimize button at every sound of movement in the cubicles behind me, I finally plunked down the $$ and bought two privacy screens and OH MY GOD THE FREEDOM!!!!! These things are AMAZING!!! I can literally be checking facebook with my boss standing to the right of me and she has no clue what I'm doing, these screens are AWESOME!! Yes, if someone is DIRECTLY behind you, they can see your screen, but from any other angle it is pretty much PITCH BLACK starring Vin Diesel. I'm writing up this review right now and as far as my cubicle mates know, I'm hard at work pounding away on the keys. If only they knew ;)
Totally worth the money, I'll be heartbroken if my monitors get upgraded to larger sizes but will gladly plunk down for new ones. These things are magical.

I bought this for my 22" monitor to give me privacy.
Pros: works VERY WELL for privacy. Unless you are within 10 degress from straight on you can't see anything on the screen.
Easy to install with the included double sided tape.
Cons: wasn't big enough for my monitoring leaving a solid 3/4" area around the screen where it's not protected. This causes some hard reading as pages go from darker privacy to lighter unprotected. I end up resizing my apps to the size of the privacy screen, losing some real estate and making the maximize button worthless.
As a 20 year member of Amazon I rely on independent reviews when shopping and I will always try to be as honest and impartial as I can and will try to provide helpful insight into the product. I am reviewing this product as it relates to how it works for me in my intended use. I tend to review products that I really like, or that let me down in some manner.
