I have a ton of little stuff that always winds up haphazardly scattered all over my house and garage. We're talking hose fittings for my homebrewing hobby, electronic parts for my cars, and miscellaneous hardware for use around the house. I really wanted a large-scale storage solution with a variety of drawer sizes, that was enclosed enough to keep dust out (instead of just little bins.

Well, this particular unit doesn't have the variety of shelves, but I tried it anyways. Each drawer is DECENT in size, but it quickly lets you down when you're trying to store power adapters or small hardware boxes - the drawers aren't very tall.

The bigger problem though is the way the drawers are held - there's basically a small track in the front of the frame that holds each drawer. That track doesn't run towards the back of the frame - basically it's just the thin, black plastic trim that you can see in the picture of this item listing. The BACK of the unit is open, with just the few plastic tabs that can be cut out to act as dividers for (a few) drawers.

What this means is that any substantial weight in the drawer will cause the drawers to sag when they're closed, and fall forward and out when they're opened. The drawers also don't stop when you pull them forward - they just slide right out. So it's very easy to misjudge the length of the drawers and end up popping them out of the frame.

I'd use this for light things like arts and craft items, very small utensils or (lightweight) tools - anything that's paper/cardboard/plastic. If you're going to use it to hold metal items like hardware, I'd recommend only storing those in the bottom drawers, and/or only filling each drawer half-full or less to keep the weight down.

I'll keep looking for something along the lines of "industrial-grade." This thing won't cut it.

I'm not very happy with this "made in USA" cabinet. There is no support for the back 60% of the drawers, except for the bottom row. This means the cabinet will sag like crazy when I load the drawers with nuts and bolts. In the picture you can see there is zero support from the rear. The plastic parts you see are nothing but 4 pop-out drawer dividers for 16 drawers, and inexplicably some dividers for small drawers. I have to wonder how much more it would cost the manufacturer to support the rear and include at least 4 more full-length dividers. Maybe $1.00? A pretty sad cabinet compared to some I have had for 20+ years.

I cannot stand when my office supplies are thrown all together among a 3 or 4 drawer storage bin-I've really tried to love them but I just can't. I've done the pinterest thing and spray painted them a cute color but alas, I just can't get over the lack of organization. How can I live peacefully when I know if I reach for a small rubberband, there will be a drawer overflowing with large, medium, small, extra small, the list goes on. I've tried the acrylic makeup organizers, but the drawers were too small- how will I fit all of my binder clips in there? Plastic jewelry organizers? Disappointed in the size. Craft storage bins? Too big. I have become the goldilocks of the painful task of organizing my office supplies.

And then my world changed. I bought this beautiful drawer organizer and I was able to organize all of my office supplies in perfectly sized drawers-not too big and not too small-just right. I can look over on my bookcase and know that when I reach for a small paperclip I will not be attacked with large ones. My post it notes are no longer haphazardly thrown in with pencils and highlighters- yes, those too have their own home in this storage box from heaven.

So if you are a disgruntled organizer that is addicted to all things office supplies but can't seem to find a good way to organize all of it-buy this and give yourself a good night's sleep.

I bought all three (24, 44, 64 bins) as a trio for electronic repair. I have the set stacked and recessed into a unused wall hollow. Be prepared to trim some of the clear excess casting material from the bins. I had to do this on 20% of the bins or they will not slide properly. It only takes 3 seconds, but it must be done.
