! I had been researching filters until I was blue in the face and quite sick of it. Then I read a few reviews on this filter and was sold. The output is amazing. It's easy to clean as well. Having the skimmer is also a nice feature. I'm using this on my 40 gallon and honestly could have sized down. It hums! It's also quiet other than the water sound. My tank is rimless so I keep the water a bit lower than I want to. It keeps my catfish in as well as my perch. Overall I would buy this again.
Nice Filter

Had an issue with the impeller getting clogged and the unit not working, contacted Seachem and they resolved the issue within about 5 minutes. Filter is great and I would highly recommend.
Does an amazing job!

Best hob filter I have ever had. Hands down.
Over the last 30 years of fish keeping I have had many different name brand filters. I can honestly say I will never buy any other brand again.

I want to love it

But I can't get past just liking it. Some things about this filter are really good. Mainly, that it primes itself because the pump is inside the tank. I really believe every HOB filter should be made this way. It moves a ton of water if you have it turned all the way up. The issue is, even though it has tons of room for media, when you put more media in it than what it comes with it starts bypassing in a couple days.
This may or may not be an issue. I haven't figured that out yet. Part of this I think is the fact that it has a little pop-up alert to let you know it's bypassing. No other filter like this has that that I know of so they could all be bypassing also you just wouldn't have an alert telling you that.
Even when the alert is up it is still filtering but it is also bypassing. When I put polyfil in it, even after it starts bypassing the polyfill continues to get dirtier so I know it still catching debris out of the tank.
GOING TO GO ALL CAPS FOR ATTENTION HERE. THOSE OF YOU SAYING THAT THIS FILTER IS LOUD, FILL YOUR TANK UP. THIS FILTER MAKES HARDLY ANY NOISE AT ALL IF THE TANK IS FULL TO THE POINT THAT THE WATER IS AT THE OUTLET OF THE FILTER.

Outstanding filter.

They literally thought of everything a fish keeper would need on a filtration system.
This filter is a must have, I own two 3 inch oscars in a 36 gallon (will be moved to a 150 gallon once they reach 6 inch), and keeps the tank clear, clean and filters all their bioload. Must have. It is quiet enough, we sleep literally next to it, and we can't complain. Water flow easy to adjust, filter media changes are easy, installation is easy. Easy.
One thing I'll say for fish owners is always go bigger. If you have a 55 gallon, purchase the 75 tidal or if you have a 75 gallon purchase the 115 tidal, you won't regret this purchase.
