Always seems when I'm in need a flashlight, the batteries are weak, dead or I don't have enough replacements on hand. I like the fact that when we lose power, these can be set to "auto" so a night light will automatically illuminate. If you plug it in with the flashlight engaged and plug it in.......the light will go off until there is a power outage. Naturally, you can remove it from the wall and use it as a regular flashlight knowing it's fully charged.... ready to go.This particular unit has swivel plug prongs......... which I find handier than the one ( straight plug in) that was on my older unit. I can swing this out sideways which gives me full access to use my lower plug for things that have an adapter end plug.
This one replaces one that was plugged in for10 years. Unfortunately, the lithium battery got to the point where won't fully recharge anymore.

I bought this to ensure we have light quickly in case of a power outage. It charges easily and quickly from any American wall outlet. When unplugged and the on button is pressed, it makes an excellent flashlight for such a small package. Although I don't plan to use it as a night light, I can see it would work well if you need that feature. Good to know this light will be there and ready to go the instant we need it.

I bought something similar from Container Store several years ago and was very disappointed when it stopped working and they no longer offered it I found this one on Amazon and love it even more. It tends to flutter when the light fluctuates because of trees and wind and clouds but it is just trying to decide whether or not there is enough light to turn off. If I close the bathroom door it burns bright and steady. The power has not gone off yet but I have every confidence it will do its job perfectly if and when that happens!

Purchased pack of two. One works, and one does not. I set the faulty one for a night light, worked great for one night and has not worked since. The one that works is great...but afraid to use as night light. I keep testing it and it is ready to go. I plugged them in beyond return date, or would have returned. So make sure you test them! I like the one that works.
