I had never used extensions, and I definitely could have used a set of instructions, but once I got a few in, it was a fun edition to a costumey outfit. I didn't dare to use heat, I thought they would melt! But it helped me to decide which vibrant, fashion hair color I wanted to permanently dye my hair. I went with PURPLE! So after that, I used both purple colored extensions in my hair for added depth. One shade was darker than mine, and the other purple was lighter. Also fun for creating wild updos or braids. Gave only 4 stars because I could have used the product info (like whether they could be heat styled) and help with the clips!

My daughters (7 & 5 ) wanted to dye their hair but I felt they were too young. I ordered these to surprise them. There are so many extensions and colors to chose from in one package and long enough to trim them to make them the same length as their hair. The clip in is a comb that snaps in & holds tight. I put them in their hair under their top layer of hair and it looked very real and cool. Very cool and vibrant looking in both blonde and brunette hair! Good Deal. As far as quality, it is plastic-y like barbie hair so styling with any heat will melt them! Its perfect for younger girls though.

The good: They work! They clip in easily (with a snap-to-open; snap-to-close clip); they stay put; they look good! I was actually surprised that people mistook them for actual highlights, because, up-close, they are quite obviously not real hair. The clips stay hidden under your hair. They don't seem to itch or cause discomfort, either.
The less good: They don't arrive perfectly straight, but several of them are bent, with creases. I've flat-ironed them on a super-low setting (just kept trying while the iron was heating up, and stopped once it worked) and that seemed to work on the wrinkles. I've also cut them to fit my hair length. I may well have had more problems if I kept them their entire length, as they seemed more wrinkled (and easy to knot) near the bottom. And, yes, a couple of them have started falling apart -- a few stray strands come out, particularly if you try to comb them.
Back to the good: I really need to stress, though, that despite these flaws, I genuinely like these things. There are 20 in the package and I use them one at a time. Considering the price per unit, it's a pretty good deal, even if I only get a couple uses out of each one. They're a fun little accent.
