Easy Assembly

Ordered this chair 02/01.18; received it 02/02/18! Awesome! Opened the box, unpacked it, and all pieces were there and in perfect condition. There were no instructions, but anyone can assemble this chair with no difficulties. NOTE - I have seen comments for "assemble -it - yourself" items where the recipient talks about holes not lining up, drilled off-center, etc. MY RECOMMENDATION - When you assemble a product, DO NOT tighten bolts / screws until all those in a particular sequence have been installed FINGER TIGHT. For example, it takes 2 bolts to attach an armrest to the seat, and 2 to attach the armrest to the seat back. So, I attached the left arm rest to the left side of the seat and seat back, turned it over and attached the right arm rest the same way. None of the bolts were tightened, so all 8 bolts and their respective holes lined up flawlessly. Then, I tightened them in a sequential manner, and all went very well. The same for attaching the base to the tilt adjuster. So, from opening the box to sitting at my computer took 32 minutes. As to the comfort, the back and arms are great, the seat front is a bit too high for my comfort. I'll give iit a few weeks, and if it still bothers me, I'll open the seat pillow from the bottom a nd remove some packing. This chair is an outstanding buy for the price. Highly recommended!!

I love that the arms fold back out of the way when I'm playing and/recording my guitar which is one of the main reasons for my purchase of this chair The non-foldable arms from other chairs make it hard to sit comfortably while playing my instruments.
I really like this chair a lot! I like the sturdy wheel base, no tipping and not off balanced. The material used for this chair seems like it will last for a long time.
If I could add/change a couple things I would make the back of the chair reclinable (wish it did), add more comfortable padding into the seat cushion, add a lumbar support pillow or built in.. Overall I am happy with this purchase. I would recommend.

Great for what it is at this price

We got this for our teenage son to use as his gaming/ school desk chair. We also bought it at discount when it was selling for less than $80.00 with free shipping via Prime. At that price point, I think it's a really good deal, but at the current price of 100+, I think we would have spent a few extra bucks and gotten a slightly better-quality chair.
The Essentials chair was easy enough to assemble with the tilt mechanism fully assembled, except for the lift strut. Both the seat and back cushions were full assembled and only required attaching them to each other and the arm rests with a few screws. The arm rests while not adjustable, do fold up along the seat back (see pictures).
I've seen a lot of reviews that indicate this chair is great for up to and beyond the 250 LB weight limit. That may be true for a few weeks or months, but I don't expect it will last long with that type of usage. My son is about 5'7" and 130 LBS, so this chair is ideal for him and people with similar small sized frames. On the other hand, I'm 6'1" and 275 and while the Essentials chair was comfortable when I sat in it for a few minutes, I could tell the cushions and the frame were not designed to support heavy weights for an extended period.
I also see a lot of reviews raving about the high quality of this chair. I think those are a little misguided as well. The Essentials chair is 90% plastic, with even the base plate (see pictures) for the seat bottom and tilt mechanism made from a low- grade 0.125" material (which I expect will fracture rather easily with too much weight or stress). The only components made of metal are the lift strut, the rod for the tilt mechanism, the vertical axles for the casters, and some of the hardware. The material covering the cushions and arm rests is also a lower grade pleather (vinyl?) or cloth that is much thinner than in higher quality chairs. The stitching is also poor in many places (see pictures) and I expect it will be one of the first things to fail.
Like I mentioned in the first part of my review, this is a great chair at a price point of 80 dollars or less. But there is a reason that office chairs like Broyhill, LazyBoy, and DxRacer cost 3 or more times the price of the Essentials chair. A higher quality chair has better/thicker cushions & coverings, is constructed mostly of wood, steel, or composite instead of low grade plastic, and will last longer than 6-12 months with regular use.
Considering comfort, style, and length of use, there is absolutely no comparison between this Essentials chair and the Broyhill executive office chair that is in my home office. I bought the Broyhill for more than $300.00 in May of 2011. I think the Essentials chair will last 2 or more years for my son, but I also expect it would last less than 12 months if I or someone of similar size were using it regularly. I'd need to by a least 6 - 8 of the Essentials chairs over the same time frame that I've had one Broyhill office chair. Again, the Essentials chair is great for what it is at this price (and the reason I gave it 4 stars), but it is by no means on par with or better than most chairs at a higher price point.

Chair is very comfortable. I bought it as a desk chair, so I do find that I need to add a back pillow because otherwise, I'm leaning back too far. But it's a gaming chair, so what else could I expect, right? It was easy to assemble, it's wide enough for me :-) and although I don't like office chairs with arms, these can be lifted out of the way, so not only do they not annoy me, but they allow the chair to be easily pushed all the way under my desk. The red is bright and pretty.

Just arrived and put together. Bottom line...is it comfortable? Yes! I was surprised at the lumbar support, if you sit all the way back in the chair. Obviously this is a high back chair, so you can lean back and have full back support. Fully adjustable tension for leaning back. Height adjustment. You can lock it in upright position, so it doesn't lean back. Rolls easily, since this is a relatively light weight chair. The padding is firm and not luxury soft, but this can be good or bad. This is not a squishy chair. I have not had this chair long enough to determine if it really needs more padding or not to make it more comfortable for sitting in for a long period of time. I find that if you sit all the way against the back of the chair with feet on the ground, its very comfortable. The looks are great, but the price is even better. It's pretty well made and sturdy. With regular use, I don't see this wearing out anytime soon, since it's not flimsy. Excellent value for the price. At this price, if it were to break within a year or so, I wouldn't feel bad if I had to purchase another to takes its place. We are even thinking about buying some for work chairs, the price is so good compared to the market place. No regrets on this purchase at all. Because of the size of the item, it would be a hassle to return to Amazon if you didn't like it, but I think you will.
