I love the Yard Sentinel for all the cats that the neighbors let run wild in our neighborhood. It took about 2 weeks for all the cats to get the message to stay clear of my property. What was the most fun was watching the cats on my outdoor security cams about 3:00 am take their normal path through my property, until they ran into the yard sentinel, they couldn't get turned around and off my property fast enough. Now the cats don't even try to come on my property, they now walk all the way around and just look at my property, and still go to my neighbors on each side of me. I have mine set for night time only, and on sonic so I can hear it too, that way I know it's working. I love the the 30' A/C power cable that comes with it, so you don't have to worry about changing batteries, it works fine on either, you can also order a 65' power cable if you need one from Aspectek. Do not waste your money or time on the solar type, one cost as much as 2 of these type, and if you have several cloudy days they won't recharge or work at all. Now for the things I dislike. I don't like having to take the back cover off to do any adjusting of the unit when you are trying to get it set up, the alarm is screaming the whole time you are trying to get it back on, the hard plastic cover is really hard to get back on, also one of my units seems to be false triggering a lot when it rains, the other one does not.

Very easy to set up. I have raccoons,cats , squirrels visit my back yard and eat my fruit and vegetables. Couple cats always broke the garbage bags. I been installed this product for couple months, it is too soon to tell if work on raccoons or squirrels because spring just come. But it working great on cats , the garbage bags never been broken since I used them.

It's too early to tell if the deer hate this noise maker enough to avoid my tasty bushes. However, the adjustments are a real great feature. For initial setup, I am using both human-audible sounds as well as higher frequencies. Even at half volume, everyone agrees this is annoying. Like any deer repellent, it is always a question of an animal's hunger vs the hurdle presented, and whether a learning curve sets in to reinforce or negate that hurdle. I'll update in the spring when feeding season is over based on actual deer damage, or the lack.

So far it continues to be a work in progress and lives up to what it has advertised. It has so many options and comes with a very detailed manual. It is without a doubt the most powerful ultrasonic rodent repellent I've used, my primary intended target. I'm mostly using it outside and on my patio roof and in my attic. The ability to use either AC or battery, makes it quite versatile making it possible for me to move it around the yard and house, and garage. Although at times inside my house, I can faintly "feel" it when it initially kicks on, but quickly disappears. To me, its probably too powerful for my use inside the house around people. Maybe late at night while everyone is in bed or in areas not highly frequented.
Works for a period, but squirrels get used to it.

I ordered two of these - one for the deck and another for the attic. We live in a wooded neighborhood and squirrels are destroying everything. Of course, I can't keep a watch in the attic, but have constantly monitored the one on the deck. It is fairly easy to set up. I am using it in a receptacle so I am not familiar with the use of batteries. It has a plastic cover over the back to protect the settings but the cover does not fit well. It should snap into place, but does not. The unit can be adjusted to a myriad of different noises and the volume can also be adjusted.
For the first couple of weeks, it was effective in keeping the squirrels off the deck. After that I started to see a brave one now and then. The instructions say if they get used to it, to change the settings to a different sound. I did that, and once again it kept them at bay. After that I began to have to re-set it every week or so. After two months I am re-setting it every few days and moving it to different locations (very large deck.) The squirrels are becoming less intimidated by it.
It is certainly an improvement over the squirrels chewing deck furniture and digging in my flower urns, but it seems like it will require constant management, and if the same thing is going on with the one in the attic, it is useless.
