My cat likes this and the quality is good

Our vet recommended Hill's Science wet cat food mainly because of the quality ingredients and that male cats need moisture in their diet. We selected the savory salmon flavor and our cat loves this. This brand of cat food is more expensive than others, but it's the type of food that is healthy for your pet. Read the ingredient label of cheaper brands and you'll find all sorts of ingredients that are not recommended by knowledgeable vets and may be unhealthy for your pet.

UPDATE: Apparently, Hills has changed their formula and I have been notified that the "minced" is no longer available. Instead, it's now just called "savory" and the texture has changed to a gel like blob. They are not impressed.

Two of the three (young adults) like it, the old man (9 year old MC) is suspicious....at least I can get them to eat it and it's not garbage like a lot of the cheapest varieties, which are made for taste and marketing, not nutritional quality. I mix it with Fancy Feast Liver and Chicken Paté or their favorite flake variety to lower the cost a bit and improve their diet, and I really appreciate Science Diet offering the larger cans, because I hate tossing all the metal into the landfill, especially when our island does not offer much recycling. Our daughter is a veterinarian and has cautioned me against using the grain free varieties due to several studies implicating those in heart disease in both cats and dogs. My choice would be to make my own, but that is not currently an option. I will keep this in the rotation, as they look fabulous and have great coats and full of energy!

I was recently having a hard time finding any cat food that my cats seemed to like, so I was trying different varieties. I had mostly been usng Purina Fancy Feast, which has a lot of flavors, but one of my two cats is a very fussy eater, and the other usually will eat as much as I give him, but lately was being fussy as well. The usually non-fussy one had also been experiencing a great deal of hair loss. We thought it was a flea allergy, but the standard flea treatment seemed to make it worse. Then on a whim I decided to try Hill's Science Diet. It wasn't appetizing-looking -- a smooth pate look -- but my cats loved it, especially the big guy. After a few weeks I noticed his hair was growing back, a benefit I hadn't anticipated! He still really loves it, and the fussy eater will eat it, although not as enthusiastically. And after several months, even though we're now at the height of flea season, his coat is full and glossy and he doesn't appear to be itching very much. (I do give him an internal tablet for fleas, since he doesn't tolerate the external treatment well.) But I credit Science Diet for bringing back his full coat. It appears to be excellent nutrition for cats, and he likes to eat it.

My cats love the taste and in general seem to eat it all up without any leftovers.
