Unfortunately, my wife has reached a level in her declining health where she is no longer able to maneuver the stairs. I did extensive research, and found that this product meets our needs and had good reviews. One note, to save you a great deal of time yourself, if you are on Medicare even with a Medicare Supplemental plan, the chair is NOT covered. The cost is out of pocket. However, you can use it as a medical deduction on your taxes. I contacted Gary directly at Jameson Medical regarding the Insurance issue, as well as other items of clarification, and found him to be extremely helpful, professional and polite.
The unit was easy to install. Depending on your physical conditioning, you might need help getting the power unit to the top of the stairs for installation. I stay actively involved in a BowFlex program, and once removing the unit from it's box, had no problem getting it to the top.
Excellent fit and quality, and opens a whole new world to the wife, with the ability to easily manage the stairs. Thanks for your assistance Gary.
