I was full of praise for the great dimmability of the maker's 5000K bulbs of the same appearance so when I decided to order these I didn't do my homework. Be aware that these bulbs definitely don't dim. I was able to replace the dimmer operating the wall sconces with a regular old switch so they are usable there. In a 'touch dim' lamp things got definitely weird -- there are normally three brightness levels and these are progressively brighter starting at off -- but with these bulbs there is off, pretty bright, very bright, very dim. Don't know what I'll do about it but since the problem is due to my own lack of diligence I'll not be returning them. Oh, BTW, the light quality from the bulbs is very nice.

I was skeptical going with the 40W bulbs in my exterior house lights but was pleasantly surprised with their brightness. They are right up there with the 60W incandescent bulbs that they replaced. Of the 15 bulbs I tried, one of them did not work. It's too early to tell how they will hold up over time, but I am hopeful that they at least pay for themselves in energy savings. The 2700K temperature seems to be spot on and was what I was hoping for. The size of these bulbs was also nearly identical to those that I replaced which was a concern with some of the other bulbs I was looking at.
These bulbs seem mostly "OK" and are exactly the look that I wanted.

Results - but they rarely will flicker on-off until I 'power down' (to resent the dimmer, Lutron Diva C.L for Dimmable LEDs, DVCL-153P).
I feel this flickering is probably a dimmer issue, in spite of the Lutron dimmer having specs (and price) that would indicate full compatibility.

Pretty good color but not perfect tungsten match, a little more yellow but still acceptable.
Be carefull when choosing a dimmer as many dimmers require a minimum amount of current to through them to operate correctely and these LEDs are only 4 watts.
