Follow instructions. Fill with your favorite wood pellets, ignite upright with propane or butane torch for 45 seconds, let burn 10 minutes, blow out flame and then gently lay it down horizontally. It does put out smoke for two hours. My problem was with my gas grill and placement of tube. My grill has a one inch gap in the rear of hood. I put the tube next to the rotisserie opening and tried to get some smoke flavor on some ribs. I had one burner on low, about 225 to 250 degrees. The problem was air currents because of my grill. I set tube on far side of grill on indirect heat side. The airflow pushed the smoke horizontally beneath my ribs ( they were on warming rack away from burner) and the it went out the gap in my grill lid. I need to find a way to fill that gap to reduce the air currents so the smoke can reach the meat. My grill has a viewing window in the lid and I could see the smoke coming out, but it sort of by-passed the meat. The issue is my grill not the smoke tube. I just need to experiment for best results. I have a smoker, but am having fun playing with the tube. I'll dial it in eventually.
I'm sure it will be perfect for me

I haven't used it yet. Plans for it in the near future. I'm sure it will be perfect for me. I have seen them in use by friends.
