This is a very well made bedspread, and it is truly a bedspread, not a coverlet. It does shrink if you put it in the dryer. I knew this before I bought it based on other peoples reviews so I ordered a "full" for my twin bed. My twin bed has a tall base because it is an adjustable base plus it has a thick mattress. I measured my bed from the floor on one side, across the top and down to the floor on the other side to make sure I knew how wide the bedpread needed to be. Plus my bed is a XL twin. Anyway when it arrived I put it on the bed and the sides were about 1-2 inches too long on each side. I washed and dried the bedspread and after that the spread ended about 2" above the floor on each side. The length didn't seem to be affected.
I would recommend to everyone that before you buy any bedspread from anyone you go by measurements, not the specified "twin, full, queen, king" designation. There are so many new kinds of beds on the market with different mattress and box spring thicknesses there is no way a bedspread manufacturer can account for all of them except by just telling you the dimensions of the bedshpread. And 100% cotton is going to shrink.

Kinda in between 3 & 4 stars. I read the other reviews, good and bad so I knew what I was getting into. Yes, the reviews that state that this is a big blanket is kinda correct because of how light it is. BUT! Find me another 'blanket' that can cover my elevated king size bed and have the sides go all the way down?! You can't. The largest bed cover I've found before this one was 106 X 118 by Chezmoi (I LOVE that one by the way) although the sides didn't come all the way down and since I don't want a skirt, the bed always looked unfinished. This 120 X 120 monster does the job. It's very lightweight and since I read that it's 100% cotton, I will wash and lightly dry with care. (I'll finish my review after the first wash). It seems to be slightly lighter in color than the picture shown, but that could by my computer. The tone is the same. If you're looking for a MONSTER of a bed cover, this is it. And if you wanna sleep under something a little heavier, throw something underneath and enjoy the fact you won't need a bedskirt with this one.

I was reluctant to purchase this online without feeling the fabric, especially given the great price for 100% cotton. It is very soft and lightweight. So, if you want a more quilt-like feel, look elsewhere. It is exactly what we needed for the warmer summer months. The color is as pictured & quite pretty. Let's be honest here. This is NOT a bedspread or comforter. It's a blanket. Not even a super-thick blanket that could pass as a bedspread. It's just a blanket. Is it still pretty? Yes. But now I feel like I paid for a bedspread and got a blanket. Also, it WILL shrink in the dryer. Probably wouldn't buy again.

A very pretty bedspread and the color is the same on my laptop monitor as it is in person. Before washing it I placed it on the bed to see if I would like it and if it was long enough on all sides. I have a queen size bed - 12 inch deep mattress on a 14 inch high platform frame. Before washing the bedspread was 2 inches off the floor on the sides and just touching at the foot, with enough at the head to flat roll the pillows twice over! After washing, with the bedspread touching the floor at the foot, there is still enough to flat roll the pillows. The sides are now 8 inches off the floor on both sides! I guessed what would happen if I turned the bedspread so that the part which was at the head was now on the side and I guessed correctly. The bedspread laid on the floor on the sides by quite a few inches and was too short head to foot even to use the shams. Sigh!!! I don't want to send it back. I'll get a dust ruffle and call it done. This is an inexpensive bedspread. But my dear manufacturers, if you're going to sell a bedspread, make it reach the floor on all sides and describe it accurately so that a person can make an informed decision! It's cotton. Some shrinkage is expected even with cold water and drying on delicate. But not that much! And besides, the onus is on the manufacturer for the variance as there is no way a consumer can accurately gauge such a thing! Wish I'd taken before and after photos...
