It is what it is supposed to be, laundry detergent.

Have you noticed how expensive detergent is nowadays? Well, this is good value for the money considering today's prices for everything! There are other brands out in the super-markets but none come in this large size. There is also the great convenience of having this heavy product delivered to my door as I have lumbar arthritis & carrying stuff like this with my groceries from my apartment parking lot just ot the elevator is a HUGE chore & accomplishment. Delivery saves me that trouble. The product works greats at keeping my dark colors nice & dark and dare I say even bright looking as if they were new. I'm very happy with how this product performs at keeping dark colors looking as they should. It's really a great value for the money! Other makes of similar products do not sell this type of detergetnt in the stores or even on Amazon in this large size. It's well worth a try for your!

It's odd that Proctor & Gamble make both products, yet they only advertise Tide, and Cheer is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Cheer is gentle on clothes, which helps clothing last a long time. Tide cleans very well, but is harsh enough to cause fading and other problems.

P&G should CHANGE their marketting of both products. They already have, "If it's gotta be clean, it's gotta be Tide!" -- but they also need, "If it's gotta be cleaned safely, it's gotta be Cheer!" Hey P&G: I think CHEER is comparable to WOOLITE, if you use just a bit of Cheer.

Use Cheer on cold or warm for colors. Dark clothing being BLACK, also RED, blue, green, and the grays you want to stay gray. Also, womens' undergarments, and patterns or prints in any fabric hold their color better with Cheer. Silkscreened or other images are generally preserved better with Cheer, cold/warm water, and lower dryer settings (like Knit) or hand-drying.

Use Tide on anything else when fading doesn't matter, but cleanliness does: rags, towels, washcloths, mens' undergarments, and other utilitarian fabrics (rugs, etc.) do better with Tide.
