Works Well. May need "twiddling" on the Nikon D850

Works very well on a Nikon D4. On the Nikon D850, it works well in manual mode. However in iTTL mode, flash may not initially work. There seems to be a extremely slight mechanical mismatch between the camera's and flash's contacts. To work in iTTL insert the flash all the way into the camera's hot shoe. Turn on both camera and flash (in iTTL mode). Look for an orange flash symbol, "Ready Flash Indicator", in the lower-right corner of the viewfinder. If not visible loosen and gently pull the flash about <1mm out of the hot shoe until the "Ready Flash Indicator" is visible. Tighten. The flash should then work in iTTL. Verify by changing the camera's ISO and see the flash's ISO change to the same ISO. I agree that it's not a pro flash, but compact and perfect for traveling and for family use.

Yes, fits/works on MOST but not the P7700 or P7800 compacts, no matter how I change the settings on the flash or the camera. Too bad. It's the perfect sized flash for a compact camera, great features and accessories, very nicely built. Way better features than anything Nikon offers for 10x the price!

This works great with my d500. I also have this flash in the Sony version for my RX10. It's perfect, small compact and I also love that it has an LED light.
I'm not sure how good this flash is straight on, I haven't tested it. I always bounce flash and if there are no walls or ceiling to bounce off from or if I'm outdoors, I use a bounce reflector like the Flashbender. On this flash because if its tiny size,I would use a smaller bounce reflector.
The flash power is 1/4 of the sb-910 flash, so its not a pro flash, but perfect for traveling and for family use.
