Very similar to Fleck but with some nice features

I decided to try this softener over the Fleck that I installed in my daughter's home last year. After reviewing the literature for the Tier1, there were several features that I found interesting over what Fleck offers. The Tier1 bypass assembly is much smaller than on the Fleck. I disliked the Fleck bypass so much that I built a bypass out of PVC on the wall behind the unit. The Tier1 bypass is more compact. The programing of the Tier1 is simplified as well. Other than these features, the units are very similar. Some may prefer Fleck for the reason that it gives you more access to detailed programing such as reserve capacity management, control of regen cycle and a lot of other minutia. There is also a more compact bypass that can be purchased for the Fleck.
On the Tier1, you will need to attach the 1" adapters with a couple of red clips. This seems impossible to do. After talking to the vendor, they explained that you just have to press hard and they do go in. The instructions don't explain this very well. Programing is very simple compared to the Fleck, but you don't have access to all the minutia available on the Fleck if that is what floats your boat. I have this softener up and running now for 5 months and it works great. Each regen gives me about 2500 gallons of soft water that will last over a week in my household. Salt usage is very low, and I've only added one bag of salt since I initially installed it.
