KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki Marinade

KC Masterpiece Honey Teriyaki Marinade- I have tried marinades before and usually they add a wonderful to the meats I cook. But for this time, I used defrosted, chicken legs and thighs, I put it in a gallon size bag, poured the marinade all over it and layed it on a plate in the fridge over night and when I woke up I flipped the bag over on the plate still in the bag, went about my day and then that evening I baked it in the oven. I was just so sure it was going to be so full of flavor. To my disappointment it hardly had any flavor at all? I'm not sure what happened cause I really wanted to like this.
Really great

My boyfriend heard that some body builder he likes uses this so he really wanted me to cook with it. I buy thin sliced chicken breasts by Perdue and cook the chicken with a spray olive oil to get a nice brown on it. Remove the chicken, add minced garlic to the same pan, cook it til it's no longer raw, and then pour this sauce in and cook it on low until it's hot. Then I return the chicken to the pan, coating in sauce. I serve it over rice and broccoli and it tastes even better than takeout Chinese chicken and broccoli. My boyfriend would eat this every day of his life happily.
