I got this for my 6 year old and I as a fun way to learn about the different stages of becoming a butterfly. We had so much fun and loved getting to release them and watch them fly off. We got 8 caterpillars and all but 1 became butterflies. Definitely follow the instructions and you wont have an issue.

My girls are 5, 7, and 8. They love nature and animals. This experience was one they will never forget. We had 7 caterpillars, 6 became butterflies and one never hatched. They were easy to take care of and the process was SO interesting. In the photo we set them free after about 3 days of observation as they only live for 2 weeks so we wanted them to have plenty of time to enjoy nature. When they flew out my girls were so excited for them. Some even flew out and then flew back toward us as if to thank us. It was a beautiful experience. Some of them stayed in the yard for several days greeting us as we went out!
