Works as intended. Able to add OTA channels directly into the Hopper and Dish guide for easy viewing and ability to record two OTA channels simultaneously to Hopper. One of the major networks were removed from Dish programming in our area, but we were able to utilize an OTA antenna along with this device to add it to the Dish guide ensuring we could record programs easily (just like the channel was still broadcast from Dish). We also were able to find several dozen additional OTA channels that are available in our area. Only reason for 4-star rating is that it seems several of the channels that we could tune-in on tv were not recognized by this tuner (assuming that they had weaker signals, and this tuner just didn't capture them even though our tv tuner was able to). Another issue that is most likely due to the broadcast signal itself (perhaps programming info is not transmitted by broadcaster) and not due to this tuner, is that the guide info wasn't available/correct for all the channels. If you have a lot of OTA channels available in your area or face a similar issue with a Dish versus local broadcaster dispute, this tuner along with an OTA antenna is worth it to integrate these channels into your Dish Hopper Guide.

It works as described attached to my dish cable box restarted the dish and my OTA channels are accessible

We dropped our Dish subscription to local channels to eliminate the monthly charge for satellite relay. The antenna adapter must be set up in the Hopper menu to activate the channels. The picture is excellent on the channels that we receive but the weaker signals (in our area) from ABC, ION and PBS are not there. Your reception will vary depend on the distance from the transmitter, obstacles such as mountains and trees and most of all the design and elevation of your antenna. Indoor antennas do not work well unless you have few obstructions between your location and the transmitter and live within 20 miles. We live 24 air miles from our source stations and have a ridge and numerous trees in the signal path so a medium range outdoor antenna was needed to pick up what we do get. Before you order the antenna adapter you should experiment with over-the-air reception first by connecting an antenna to the coaxial port on your TV. Don't believe false claims from antenna manufacturers about 50 - 100 mile range. That will only happen on larger outdoor mast mounted antennas with preamplifiers installed.

The channels that we receive appear on our Hopper menu after doing the setup scan - with descriptions just like the satellite channels have.

The DISH OTA adaptor worked as advertised. With a properly positioned antenna like my Channel Master Flatenna 35, it delivered 61 channels in the Columbus, OH area. With only two connections, installation was simple enough. A coax cable from the antenna to the adaptor and the adaptors USB connector to the Hopper, and no more paying for local Channels. Just follow the instructions on the DISH guide or one of many YouTube tutorials on how to scan and select which stations you want appear on your channel guide. It's an investment that'll pay for itself in short order.
