I bought two barrels from another company, both leaked. I then bought two barrels from Redhead. It was clear when they arrived that their quality was fundamentally better. Neither barrel ever leaked and I am enjoying my barrel aged cocktails. I plan to by another barrel soon.

I have been barrel aging cocktails for about 5 years now. Primarily Manhattans and Old Fashioneds. I have used different barrels but mostly Red Head barrels. I have a 5L barrel going and three 2L barrels running at a time.
I just decanted the 2L barrels and something strange happened. They were all started on 11/16/23 as Old Fashioneds using 2 bottles of the spirits.
The first was made with Woodford Rye and Double strength Turbinado simple syrup and Fee Bros. Bitters.
The Second was Knob Creek Single Barrel Select 120 proof Bourbon and Demerara Sugar and the same Bitters.
The Third was supposed to be made with Knob Creek Rye but instead, it was 1 bottle of the Rye and 1 bottle of the SBS Bourbon and the Turbinado SS and Fee Bros bitters.
When I decanted them yesterday 1/15/23, I got a full bottle of each plus about 2/3rds bottle due to the angels share. Except for the barrel containing the 2 bottles of the SBS 120* where I got almost 2 full bottles. I guess the angels didn't like that one or the barrel had somehow had been sealed up. Who knows?

let barrel soak for a few days

I used the barrel to age a brandy mix and some whiskey. Works greats and looks fantastic. My old fashions became the talking point of my friend group.
