Hurst Hardwood is a top notch company. They offer superior products to the big box stores and Lumber Liquidators. Believe me, I looked at 50+ of samples before deciding on the 10.5" French Oak engineered product. While most engineered products are made with a very thin top layer veneer, Hurst's product has a 4mm veneer (wear layer). This means it can be sanded and refinished 2-3 times unlike most engineered hardwood. The structural base layer is made of several layers of plywood. Which offers increased strength, flexibility (good during seasonal weather changes), and moisture resistance over both solid hardwood and the typical engineered hardwood with a MDF base layer. Not only are their products great, but their customer service is top notch too. The owner helped me with a few questions I had about proper installation. He was very knowledgeable and quick to respond. Their pricing is also very competitive. I implore you to give their products a try. You will not be disappointed.

This is nice hardwood. The wear layer is 4mm which is fairly thick for engineered hardwood. As it turned out, the color was not quite right for our house. Otherwise this is some of the best engineered hardwood flooring we looked and I would have bought it.
