My husband really likes this board and uses it keep up with our son. On the other hand our 12 year old, 75lb son recently took up skateboarding and this board is not his cup of tea, he prefers the Ten Toes Board Emporium Zed Bamboo Longboard Skateboard Cruiser, 44", Kelp Fishtail. I think it might have a lot to do with his weight.

Being someone that doesn't know much about skateboarding or skateboards, i did my research. First off i wanted to see which type of long board would be best for a beginner like me. This is a great drop through long board and is the best board for beginenrs because it allows you to maintain your balance well because of the deck. As many other people have suggested in the comments you will need to purchase a "T-tool" and loosen up your wheels. As for how the board looks, i love it! I was actually going to purchase the red sunset looking one and then at the last minute, the manufacturer released these new desgins and i chose a different board. For some people there may be a little too much branding all over the board, but i think it's fine and have actaually covered up some of the logos on the board with stickers.I get compliments all the time on my grip tape and wheels and while they look good the grip tape and wheels ride even better (for a beginner). The one critique that i would have is that i wish the board came with better quality wheels. Now don't get me wrong, the wheels that come on this board are perfectly fine and i rode on them for quite a while, and honestly they could've lasted for much longer, but then one of my friends ordered a board from a similar vendor on amazon, paid much less than i did, and received wheels on his board that were absolutely a higher quality than mine. They rode smoother and looked better. I now find myself searching for new wheels for my board. All in all the price of these of any of these boards is GREAT and the quality is EVEN BETTER. This is a great board to start out on for a beginner and i am so glad that i came across these on amazon before i walked into zumiez and dropped $200+ on a longboard.

It is a very sturdy and strong board really good for the price. If your a beginner like me it will take no time to learn I do reccomend wearing kneepads and elbows pads but mostly wrist guards if you fall.

For the price it's a really good deck. The box was smashed"‹ when I got it but the board was fine. I got this for my wife to learn but she likes my Santa Cruz cruiser better so until she learns I have no problem riding this. After a few hours of skating there are NO issues with the tail or nose. I'm not sure about the bearings or wheels because I swapped them out before testing. No name trucks but they turn so no complaints.

I was upset when my husband purchased this for our 9 year old. I thought "she's too young.. she won't be able to use it.. what makes this any different than a normal skateboard". Well was I wrong. This thing has been a blast. She loves it!.. Even I've had fun learning to ride it.
