Gifted this to my children for Christmas (3 & 5) and it was much loved. The horse makes galloping noises when you press the the ear. Battery only lasted for a couple of hours of intermittent use. No way to replace or recharge. They are still having a lot of fun, it's very sturdy and well made otherwise. But they stop occasionally to tell me how sad they are that it doesn't make noise anymore. I think if battery can't be depended on to last, would be better to remove all together so no one feels that they are missing out or that it is "broken".

The longest length is for a short child.
Measure child before buying this.
1) my 4-year old grandson really enjoyed the stick horse though it wasn't long enough for him.
2) good sound.
3) looks good.
4) Would have preferred a one piece wood stick as this plastic one isn't going to last and it's rickety.
