A good value for a good mic

This seems to be a very good mic for the money. It works well and has a nice complement of accessories that are shipped with it. There are no instructions with it, although everything is very straightforward, I don't know what the extra position on the switch is for, I'm guessing it's an eq of some sort. All-in-all i'm very happy with my purchase and I would recommend it to anyone that needs a good budget mic.

I used this with a digital camera. Friendly advice for other people like me who wouldn't know to do this -- you my need to set the microphone sensitivity on your camera manually. When I left the setting on "Auto" it did not do a good job. The audio was way too intense, sensitive and edgy. I believe this is a shortcoming of the digital camera not the mic. When set correctly, the mic worked great.

I finally got a chance to do a thorough test on the mic. Bottom line, it works as advertised and I'm very pleased. Is it equivalent to the broadcast quality microphone systems I've used in the past? No, but it is doing a fine job on the classroom shoot for which I bought it. Very cost effective, easy to use with sufficient cable to allow for some movement, and, most importantly, I'm getting good quality audio. :-)

Bought this mic for use with my Canon HD R800 camcorder. I popped the battery in, plugged it into the Mic input on the camcorder and got perfect sound! Battery is super easy to install and the 20 foot cord is more than long enough for anything I will ever need.
