They pretty much have a deaf ear
Carla BarnesNovember 7, 2017
I have used the Apha Trac 2 system since my dog was diagnosed with diabetes over two years ago. The system works well and my vets use them also. I have 2 meters and cross check them against each other. They are very accurate and consistent.
I have not had problems with the test strips however your hands have to be totally dry. Moisture will cause a malfunction.

I am trying to find information on the Everpaw system since it is much cheaper. However, what little information I could find was mixed. I have contacted Abott regarding the cost. They pretty much have a deaf ear. We pet owners should make a big deal about the excessive cost.
They seem to be pretty accurate but they are way too expensive

They seem to be pretty accurate but they are way too expensive. I have to use up to 4 a day or more if I am doing a blood glucose curve. My dog's blood glucose is hard to regulate and this becomes costly for regular people just trying to do the right thing and keep their pet safe from crashing. I think you should revisit your price.
Still thinking!

I've ordered these test strips twice and the first batch was great the second batch I've gotten some defective test strips. Getting the Error code 3 and the meter is working fine, and did a test with the solution. Not very happy especially with the price I paid.

They are a bit overpriced, but I tried using a human glucose meter and I was using even more test strips just to get a reading. At the end I was spending more than the cost of these.
geared for dogs/cats

Cat has DM and in order to get an accurate glucose I decided to purchase this product. I tested against my meter and there was about a 30 point difference. (mine was higher). The problem is that the strips are very costly--$1.00+ each. Luckily I only test once a day.

There is some thought that these are Abbott Frestyle strips but no one is able to give (or will give) answer. The Freestyle may be somewhat less costly. I suppose trial and error.
Genuine quality, price gouging by abbott

The strips work fine in the Alphatrak 2 meter and are the genuine strips. The pricing on these things is insane although I know that the retailers are just passing on the price gouging and they aren't marking them up unreasonably. These things make shaver cartridges seem like a deal in comparison.
