I bought this item in hope that the support pole was the same size and could be interchanged with the Volleyball net...the diameters are different and a new hole will have to be drilled.

well made sturdy worth the price, easy install once we were able to drill cut out a 5 inch diameter whole in the pool deck cement

After digging through all the other plastic toy-like pool basketball hoop options out there, this one rose to the top of our list. We didn't want out pool area to look cluttered or junky, but I wanted to play water basketball with my kids.

It was a tough decision because this hoop is 3-5 times the price of anything else. I had trouble justifying spending that much money just to shoot hoops in my pool... then my wife commented "How much is keeping the pool area looking nice worth?" We have a 24' round pool half in-ground, half above ground with a stunning countryside view beyond it. As I often find myself saying, she was right.

Fast forward a year and we have no regrets. The light blue rim and backboard square coordinate with our pool liner and the stainless pole is clean and professional looking. You hardly know it's there until it's time to play.

You definitely want to plan on pouring the brass mount into a large chunk of concrete. The first time, we tried sharing a 12" sono tube with a fence post and it quickly cracked, even without dunking or hanging on the rim. Now it's in a 24x30" pad that's 12" thick and poured around the old 12" sono tube for the fence post. It's plenty sturdy now, but I still don't dunk on it because I don't want to kink the stainless post... That's probably the bulk of the price right there!

You can loosen a bolt and remove the hoop for the winter, but it weathered our Wisconsin winter just fine where it is. Proper material choice (brass, stainless, acrylic) keep the whole assembly rust-free and clean-looking.

This hoop has turned our run-of-the-mill flat-bottomed, round pool into a mini-wet-gym without sacrificing the view. While it's expensive, it's for good reason because the design and execution of this product was "Done Right."
