I'm rating it a 5-star, but there are a few minor things that bug me:
- Cups do not stay in the cup holder. There is an elastic on the outside, which makes for very easy cleanup but very poor cup retention around turns. We live in the mountains, we do tight curvy turns a lot. (Not a big enough deal to reduce stars.)
- I, too, wish there were a level for the rear facing infant option. However, I'm not using this on an infant so I currently don't care enough to reduce the star rating.
- There is no way to adjust the crotch buckle. This kind of sucks. If you put an infant in here, it would be difficult to get a proper fit for the straps because you cannot move the buckle back. It is stationary. I would not want to rely on washcloths and towels to ensure proper fit, because in all reality washcloths and towels do not equate to a proper fit. Kind of a big bummer. But not currently an issue for me.
I love the color, ease of installation, and ease of use. The straps don't get caught up anywhere on the backside when tightening down -- our Safety1st convertible that we bought from Sams Club did this all the time, enough so that we ditched it for the Evenflo. It's cushy and my kid loves it. We're pretty happy.
ETA 12/2017: I knocked it down a star because I'm realizing just how big of a bummer it is that the crotch strap does not adjust. If I put my toddler in properly, with her back flat against the seat and tush scooted back... when I adjust the shoulder straps down, I think she's in there tight, right? Wrog because the crotch strap isn't snug, during the ride she wiggles down creating space with the shoulder straps. Big safety issue. Big bummer.

I have 4 kids so I've been through plenty of car seats. This is by far one of my favourites!! It is super comfortable, extremely easy to install, and it's got a lot of safety features. The cup holders are great, easy to clean and will hold pretty much any size cup. It is SO easy to adjust the shoulder straps, all you do is pull them up! I always hated having to take the seat out and undo the straps just to make them go higher, this is SO much better. My son always wants to stay in the car now because he doesn't want to get out of his seat and that has NEVER happened before. He loves it, I love it. If you are questioning what seat to get, this is the one! I am extremely happy that this is the one I went with. You can't put a price on safety and comfort for your baby, this has that plus so much more. It is worth every penny.
(I can't say anything for rear facing because my son is forward facing, but I don't think it would be much anything different)

I researched and then researched some more and decided that I wanted THIS seat. I should have researched a bit more about the color choices. Some colors have some features (like the buckle holder) and some don't. The green does not. If your child has narrow shoulders, they will be able to get their arms out of the shoulder straps pretty easily. The chest clip is kinda loose, so it will slide right down.
OK, what do I like? It is pretty easy to clean. Unlike my Chicco, you have good leverage when adjusting the head rest / no thread harness on this seat. I have 2 boys (1 and 3) who like to switch seats, and it's easy peasy to slide this one up and down. It is pretty easy to keep clean by spot cleaning. The harness adjusts at the hips, not the shoulders. So when you pull the straps out to take kiddo out, they feed out from the bottom. When you tighten kid in, they feed into the seat, not the top. I like this a lot. I've always had a hard time getting the straps on other seats tight below the chest clip. My son is snug as a bug in this seat. Oh yes, the cupholders rock. You can pretty much put any cup in there.
FAVORITE is the LATCH connectors. I have never been able to get a tight install. Not on a Britax, a Chicco, an Evenflo, no. I got this one tight as a tick on the first try. You just attach the LATCH clippy things, Press down on the seat, and it has an auto ratchet or something in there that tightens it up. LOVE. I don't love it enough to give it back the star for the missing buckle storage pockets though.

We Love this convertible car seat!

We purchased this Evenflo Symphony DLX Convertible Car Seat as a replacement for out previous one, which was in my car when I was hit head-on by a drunk driver, in December 2016.
Our previous car seat was also an Evenflo Symphony (the model from 3 years ago) and we loved it...so we chose to replace it with one from the same manufacturer and line. Although we loved our first one a lot...Evenflo managed to improve it with their new model, so we love it even more!
My son is very comfortable in his new seat. It is made of high quality materials that are easy to clean. Aside from its high safety ratings (most important feature) the car seat is really surprisingly easy to install and move. In the car accident, my dominant hand and wrist were severely broken...but I am still able to properly install the car seat due to its innovative latching system, which is simply clicked onto the latch for your vehicle and then automatically tightens for you.
We've had a couple of different car seats and this is by far the best one, in our experience. I'll never own another type again!

Harness Straps Shredded Through in 2 Years!
Jason McDermott•February 18, 2017
Let me start by saying that I was a huge fan of the Evenflo E3 Symphony car seat that we purchased for my daughter on Amazon in 2012, so much so that I purchased another seat (Evenflo Symphony 65 DLX) for my son on Amazon in 2014. The seats always performed well, straps flowed smoothly and the buckles always clicked securely. Then I noticed that the straps were getting harder to tighten. I saw what I thought was some tearing of the harness and I took the seats apart to investigate. To my horror, the Symphony 65 DLX harness was almost completely ripped through! I gave the strap one good strong tug and it completely separated. Attached are pictures depicting the shredded straps. The E3 seat is about 25% ripped through, and I'm uncomfortable to continue using it for our 3rd child. I would like to speak with Evenflo concerning my issues, and determine first and foremost if I should stop using the seat that is still only 25% ripped through (obviously the seat with the totally separated harness is unusable). Also, if there are any recalls or product replacement options available to me. These seats were not cheap; I was willing to pay the premium price because I believed I was getting a premium seat. These harness malfunctions are obviously not what I expected. Parents, I rarely write reviews. I just want to caution you based on my experience. Neither of these seats were used for more than 2 years and they're supposed to last up until 65 pounds!
