I had a badly sprained ankle and the compression sock from the orthopedic doctor was so tight that after about 5 minutes of having it on, my foot and ankle would burn and I would have to take it off. I ordered a pair of these in the medium size (I wear a size 7 shoe). I am very happy with these. I am a size 12 and got the large. I have a little pain in my ankle from a 20 mile backpack with 25 water crossings so I tried these and felt relief and support right away.
