I bought this for my son because he loves my daughter's toy microphone and I figured he'd love his own. This one has so many fun options that the other one did not. The kids get a kick out of the voice changing option and love to hear the different versions of themselves. Another favorite is to record themselves and play it back. My older children like to use it to make announcements since it amplifies your voice and make sure it sound like you are really in stage. I'm not too sure about the music feature yet, as we haven't explored it a lot, but I recognized the tune of Gangnam Style. Another plus- it came with batteries and could be played with right out of the box. It takes 2 AA when they die.
Awesome mic. Colorful and fun. A hit with the kiddos. Excellent gift - think Christmas!!!

Awesome toy. Not ashamed to say that I'm an adult and I played with it too. :) Very fun for children. The bright colors immediately had them interested. You hold down the middle blue button to activate the microphone. You can choose from the slider up near the top of the mic to either sound like a girl (labeled "Mom"), a boy (labeled "Dad"), a baby, or yourself. There are many, many songs to choose from on the mic as well as sounds like people clapping, a baby cooing, a crowd roaring, etc. My kids were very excited to hear "Gangnam Style," and I recognized a few others from the dance channels that I listen to. The microphone lights up in many different colors. It's just a cool, colorful toy. Would make an awesome gift for birthdays or Christmas!
I believe this will help my autistic grand-nephew be more engaging in conversation!

What a fun and ingenious interactive toy! My two-year old grand nephew has recently been diagnosed with mild autism. His parents claim that he barely speaks, although he is a sweet and engaging boy. I decided to buy this ThinkMax Kids Voice Changing and Recording microphone for him, as it very well may encourage him to use his voice more often. There aren't really any instructions included, although the back of the box diagrams what each button is for. One button plays music and causes the lights to flash different colors, another button triggers a round of applause or the sound of children laughing. Another button will begin to record while the other button will play back the recording. You get to choose how the recording is played back by choosing a setting -- whether in the original 'Me' voice, or in a changed voice resembling "Dad", "Mom", or "Baby". The voice changes are amusing and it's easy to switch between settings, although the setting slider is a little stiff and might be difficult for little hands to push. But the push-buttons are large and easy for a child to engage with. This is a great little interactive toy at a low price. I think this is a toy that a child will enjoy for years. This toy comes with batteries installed and ready to use.

My great granddaughter will be one on September 7th and she is obsessed with music and microphones. I knew I had to have this for her for her birthday. It arrived turned on so the batteries were dead, but once I put new batteries in it , it worked perfectly. The clear plastic part at top flashes with colored lights, and the buttons under it can be pushed to do different things. There are 4 different settings that change the voice when the child speaks into the microphone on top. And it can record 30 seconds of voice when you press the record button. The music it plays is very pretty, along with the flashing lights. It is the perfect size for a toddlers hands and the bright colors are sure to catch her attention too. I can't wait to see her eyes light up when she sees this!

This is a fun microphone for kids. It comes in a nice packaging. The back of the box tells you exactly what each button does. The microphone has voice changing feature. You hold the button and speak into the microphone. It records the voice for 30 seconds and you can play it back. This microphone is definitely for bigger kids not for a 12 months plus age. My 5 years old son loves to play with it. When we talk he replies me back in the microphone. He sings songs and nursery rhythms.
It has music and lights. This toy is really attractive and keeps the kid busy for a long time. My son loves it so much that he wants to keep it near his pillow at night.
