These little lights are great!

These little lights are great!

Back in the day, all I can remember about flashlights is that they were generally terrible. Battery life was always mediocre, and the old incandescents were rather dim. The little pocket sized flashlights never stood a chance if you actually needed to see what you were doing. Maglites were great, weighed a ton and sucked down batteries.

These things on the other hand are super cheap, and way brighter than I expected. I've had a few of the newerish LED lights but they mostly take more batteries or were just generally not very impressive. The fact that these little lights work so well and only use a AA (or 14500) is what really gets me.

I bought the set as to standardize on AA batteries in my BOB, and have ended up carrying one every day since they showed up with daily use (several months now). They seem just as bright with a new AA side by side with a 14500, but they do start to fade rather quickly with the AA vs the lithium.

I'll be checking back in next year before Christmas as I'll be giving almost everyone one of these or next years equivalent.
fantastic every day carry light

I bought this 5 pack as gifts for friends and was lucky to have one leftover and kept it for myself.

I must have mis-read the description, as I thought the lights would be all different colors...as seen in the pics of the box...but I'll take the matte black color. It's a sharp looking light that functions nicely.

You can adjust the beam of light and it has a few settings that you can change. It's much more than a regular flashlight.

I'm happy that it has a belt clip because it makes it possible to carry this light when I need to very easily. It's convenient to add this flashlight to my EDC options. I'm looking forward to carry it when I'm outside working.

Check out the pics and a comparison of a similar light.

I just LOVE these tiny flashlights

I just LOVE these tiny flashlights. When LED flashlights first came out, and were selling for over $20 at places like Costco, I bought several and immediately threw away all my old flashlights. SO bright. So compact. Wonderful. However, all those early LED flashlights required three AAA batteries. It was a chore to load those three batteries into the holder. If the holder broke, suddenly the flashlight was useless. I still have several of those early LED flashlights and love them.

Several years went by, and they figured out how to power a strong LED with a single AA battery. Fabulous! These flashlights need only a single battery. They also feature an adjustable beam, from sort of wide to very small. Personally, I find the clip annoying, and remove it using a tiny Allen wrench.

Basically, what I was paying over $20 for now comes in a box of 5 for under $18. They work great, are really convenient to carry, and replacing the battery is quick and easy.
Great little flashlights. Very useful.

Great little flashlights. Very useful and small to place in pockets. Took them on a trip over seas (passed security with no problem) & I tested them in the best environment. Upon arriving home over seas the power was out, since I had 5 I turned the flash lights on and face them on their back. They stood steady and I extended the adjustable focus range so the light was spread out more. Needless to say without these flash lights I would of been stuck home in the dark all night. I used them as a flash light and lanterns by placing one in the kitchen another in my room and another in the bathroom while I took a shower.

Pros:
They dont get hot.
Sturdy to place on flat surface.
Super compact
Adjustable focus range

Cons: Would be nice if it was brighter but for the price you cant beat it.

Definitely recommend.
These lights are cheap. No, really ... they are CHEAP. Bright, yes. Quality, no. May not ALL work upon receipt. Not Recommended!

My 5-pack had two bad lights. One did not work at all and another had huge, deep scrapes in the plastic lens (although another reviewer stated these are glass lenses, mine were not). I took the good lens from the non-working light & replaced the bad lens. Still, with only 3 out of 5 lights in good working order, I had to rate at 3 out of 5.

As with most "cheap" lights, the lumen rating is nowhere near the actual output, and these are no exception. Using a 3.7v Lithium-ion battery, I can only say that these have noticeably less light output than my reference light that is a verified 220 lumens; with a standard alkaline battery, light output would be rated at 40% of maximum.

The quality of these lights is no where near the standard of those in the $8 & up range, but then you wouldn't expect that, would you? I will also mention that these have a "zero" rating for water resistance. If you intend to take them out in the rain, I suggest that you not use a Li-ion battery as these can easily short out when made wet (and burst into flame). For this I took off another star in my rating.

I took a shot at this cheap price, but I got a cheap light. If you want cheap and bright (only with a Li-ion battery), then go for it. Just know that they might not ALL work.
