I use this for my garden hose, works well. Good alternative to the super expensive ones made for hoses and easy to throw over the porch railing. Not the most sturdy but it does the job!

I bought this for my pool vacuum hose, but this would not stand up to being outside, and is really meant to go over a door top. You can attach it directly to a wooden fence, but it seems like it would break pretty soon, esp if it's outside all the time. I was going to return it, but saw in reviews that someone else used it for a shop vac hose, so I tried it for that use, and it works great. Fits well over a door, and holds that large diameter, long hose easily. I would recommend this for indoor use only.

I needed to get a garden hose off the ground and wanted to hang it from the chain link fence. This worked perfectly. It fit snuggly over the horizontal top rail, didn't require any screws or bolts to keep it steady and it holds the entire length of the 100' hose. *As a side note: The hose is one of the newer style light-weight, nylon covered hoses that sort of flattens out when devoid of water pressure. I do not think this would be sturdy enough nor deep enough for a standard, heavy rubber garden hose beyond 25 ft.

It works to store the hose for my pool vacuum. There's not a huge amount of room for loops of the hose, so you have to make large loops in your hose so that you have fewer of them. I notice the pictures in the product description show the hook spread out a bit, but that's not how it comes - the two sides of the "U" are parallel. Maybe over time it will open up a bit?
Wish it was a little larger for 50' hose
