Great machine. Understand that .095 now appears to be standard string for this device. Especially for spool replacement. A powerful machine. Starts easy. I use to cut high grass and weeds and for light trimming. Better than my three previous string trimmers of similar size. Highly recommend this machine. Great price!

I have owned this product for about a month. I have used it around my property extensively and I am not thrilled. The motor idle is difficult to get right. I was meticulous with the gas formula and it still wont idle properly. It stalls and races alternately. The 'trigger' which is supposed to control the spin rate is not enough so again impossible to control consistently, which leads to my next point. The motor seems like a chainsaw motor. It is way overpowered for trimming grass. So when it runs at full speed or close to it *which is always* it is louder than a jet engine and so powerful the string line is easily and frequently shredded by anything like stone or brick edging or fence post that it contacts. I know this is the problem because I used to have a rechargeable battery powered trimmer and that line lasted indefinitely because it wasn't spun with such force. This is spinning probably a few thousand RPM so it wont last more than 5 or ten minutes before you accidentally contact some stone edging and the line is cut or abraided down to nothing. So you have to stop and laboriously roll out more line. The product instructions claim that tapping this bottom of the string box on the ground extends more line. FALSE. This is the worst of all claims because it is absurdly false. No such thing happens. So unwinding more line is a regular feat. And a single spool lasts about three or four uses. Lastly it weighs about 15 or 20 pounds. Heavy and awkward. The angle of the head is not adjustable so if you are like me and you have an embankment where your feet are below the line level is darn near impossible to use it unless you plan to hold it over your head and angle the line down. It could really use a strap attachment because the motor is hot and there's no way to hold it without risking burning yourself. And it could really use a place to hang a hook for storage on the motor end. In any case, this product is so cull of shortcomings and poor usability design If I could return it at this point I would. Not happy. Not planning to purchase anything by Poulan again.

This is an awesome weed trimmer. I liked how easy it is to wind the trimmer line and attach it to the trimmer. I also liked the torque the engine puts out. All in all this is a very good piece of machinery.

It is a good product but too heavy for me.

Nice powerful weed eater. Here's a tip. If it starts to bog down when you hit the gas you need to clean a small screen at the muffler.
