I haven't owned this leash very long so can't speak to it's long term durability, my dog walks well on a loose leash with minimal pulling so I don't expect the internal mechanisms to be very stressed. I was looking for a leash that would be visible from all angles; some leashes with LED lights are only bright on 1 side. This is a rope style with the lights running internally through the core of the material. I find the handle to be comfortable and the design of battery compartment is ergonomic and easy to grip while walking.

I live in a large city and there are constantly bikes, scooters and joggers that don't really pay much attention to a dog. A dog's movements can often be quick due to any type of distraction. This leash is blue and also has a blinky function. I just got it yesterday and had 3 people on the night walk give me compliments on it. I barely noticed the battery pack was there! I have a 75 lb. Lab so I probably wouldn't use it all the time since it is not very think. It reminds me of a thin jump rope material. I bought it for the light up feature at night and I am very happy with it. I hope this allows the bikes, scooters and runners to stop saying they didn't see my dog. No more excuses!! I am very pleased with this leash and will probably by another one. I told my dog walker about it so he is going to get some also. Thank you for the great product!

I bought it in September and didn't start using it until December and as of February 2, 2021 it doesn't light up anymore. I changed the batteries and that didn't help. So I used it for 2 months and it died. Don't buy this junk.

This is my 3rd one. They are great for walking the dog when dark. But the 2nd one only worked for 3 uses. The dog did tug/pull maybe pulled something loose or it was defective. My fault in the drawer too long/too late to return.

Although effective in identifying a dog being walked, we had difficulty with the clip's attachment to the dog's collar; on two instances, our dog broke the connection because the metal connector opened when she shook her head. Thus we walk her using her usual leash that has a far more effective clip, but attaching the lighted leash as well
