- •★ This is 23.75 karat gold which is 99% pure gold and 1% silver. This is the IDEAL CONSISTENCY for edible gold application such as cake decoration. 24k gold is too soft and the results are generally not as good.

- •★ Rigid packaging PROTECTS THE LEAF in transit so it arrives in PRISTINE CONDITION.

PERFECT gold leaf with perfect seller
fairyland✓ Verified Purchase•March 10, 2018
This is the exactly same gold leaf I got in Japan. The hint is, if you are cake maker, try the transfer sheet; if you do dessert like me, buy the loose leaf. I was confused and got the wrong product, thanks a lot to this fabulous seller who helped me to fix my issues and turn my mousse cake into a little piece of art! Please check my image to see how this gold leaf delighted my cake, yay!
High quality 24K gold, makes awesome drinks
Faith Hopeful✓ Verified Purchase•March 9, 2018
I used Barnabas Gold flakes (both in the bottle and the sheets) for gold martinis for my Oscar party. The product and the vendor are awesome. They were very nice to answer any questions I had regarding making ice cubes and martinis with the gold and even tested it for me.
I used the gold in three ways:
1. free floating flakes (the easiest way to do this is to use their sheet in a bottle and follow their directions with by mixing a little alcohol with water in their provided small bottle, shake, then put into drink.) If you have your own small bottle you can buy more of their sheets insert a sheet, and follow same directions. But if this is your first time mixing gold in drinks I would just buy their bottle, all ready to go. Their one sheet bottle for a 1 liter alcohol bottle or martini pitcher.
2. Ice cubes: I used both large sphere ice cubes with gold (but you need a lot more gold to do these large drink ice cubes) plus the small ice cube trays. For the latter, fill it up halfway, freeze, then insert gold, then mix in rest of water. That way gold stays in cube vs. just floating to the top. You can make the ice cubes, half water, half alcohol but alcohol does not freeze in a regular freezer (the alcohol did freeze for me as I mixed it with water.)
3. I put one small "gold" ice cube in each drink and large sphere ice cubes with gold in it in a clear martini pitcher, offering people a choice of stirred martinis or shaken martinis. Also had gold flakes in the martini shaker so they poured out beautifully into the drink when shaken.
One recommendation to work with it:
1. gold flakes easily: if you use the bottle and mix in alcohol/water, its easy, just shake and put in your larger drink container
2. if you buy the sheets, use at tweezer to gently pick off gold. But if your tweezer gets wet and then sheet gets wet then the gold becomes stuck to sheet. So use a tweezer but keep it dry. I found the combination of a tweezer and a chopstick worked best.
Everyone was awed by these gold martinis. I attached some pictures of the drinks and ice cubes with the gold. The gold is completely edible, does not taste like anything and gives your drinks that special wow factor.
This is a very high quality product: it is real 24 gold I have had some leftover in the bottle, a week has gone by and it has not tarnished, disintegrated or discolored. It looks the same as when I first mixed it. This is REAL 24K gold.
I highly recommend this 24K gold. High quality product. Next year plan to buy more gold and get even more creative with it.

Double check what you're ordering transfer or loose gold leaf.

I previously left a unpleasant review because I didn't know exactly what I was ordering. There is gold leaf/transfer and gold leaf/loose to choose from. The gold on the transfer is slightly tacked to the paper to easily remove onto cake. I used water as the agent to adhere the gold to the cake. The loose leaf is what it says...loose. Not sure what that would be applicable for. My mistake is clearly because I am an amateur at this cake business. So sorry for the previous review.
Perfect for plated desserts and petit fours
Keeliismyman✓ Verified Purchase•December 18, 2017
Absolutely perfect ! I used it for my finals in my advanced Pâtisserie and Display Cakes class, I made a plated dessert and the gold added a beautiful finish. ( I got an 98%) I also used it for my samples for a portfolio show and I received tons if compliments on how beautiful and elegant my presentation was. And the last thing I used it for was for my petition gâteaus(french for small cakes) my family and neighbors loved it, and again the gold leaf just sets my desserts off. Beautiful!
Do not order bottle with flakes
A. Cvetano✓ Verified Purchase•October 4, 2017
Make sure not to order a bottle with "flakes" because all you will get is a single leaf in this bottle for the price of $10 while you can get many sheets for that money.
