No matter what these companies say, never use these pump "extractors"of any typefor snake bites! Your life may depend on it.

If you value your life or the ones that you love, get to the hospital if you are bitten by a snake!!!! Imagine a 1 inch hypodermic needle going into your muscle injecting venom. This venom starts to break down the flesh it touches causing severe pain. Now imagine using a suction device polling this necrosis causing venom up the 1 inch hole left by the needle (or fang). You will destroy more tissue using any suction device for a pit viper bite. These devices are good for bee stings and other topical bites/stings where the bite or sting only goes a few millimeters under the skin. 20 years ago, the extractor pumps and other devices similar to this one were very popular. I purchased no less than 10 of them and taught survival medicine and always carried one in combat zones. Please research neurotoxic and hematoxic venom and did not look in any videos for these products because they are blatantly misleading and may result in death. I have a venomous reptile relocation specialist and deal with herpetology and biology in the state of Texas. Over 90% of pit viper bites are dry bites "“ meaning no venom is injected but you must let the doctors make that determination. Regardless of what you may believe my credibility is, the best thing to know about a snake bites are to study the venomous reptiles in areas you will be in or traveling to and contact your primary care manager to find out which facilities keep antivenin. With camera phones so prevalent, try to have a person in your crew safely take a picture of it and do not bring the reptile it with you. Inform 911 and request life flight if at all possible.
