It works well for my 240 volt air compressor. I just picked up one leg going to the motor which is 120 volts. Installing an hour meter like this was the only reliable way to know exactly how long a cycling air compressor has actually run. Oil change intervals are at 100 hours of run time. My compressor sees very irregular use. An hour meter like this is essential to anything that requires maintenance on a timed-use schedule.

Easy to hookup and will have an opinion when it gets more time on it

It was received on 3 February 2017. Upon receipt I noticed that the bezel or face plate was installed upside down so that when the red tenths of an hour digit was positioned to the right, the word "HOURS" was upside down and on the top. That was acceptable so I installed it a few weeks later on a 240V AC heat pump compressor to record run time. The item photo and description both indicate the device should work on voltages up to 250V. When it reached 96.2 hours it stopped. I've checked the electrical connection and that is still good. It appears the numbers are somewhat loose as if some part of the mechanical drive has broken. The Amazon 30 day return window has closed but it has a 1 year warranty so I just wrote to Searon technology requesting a replacement. I'll update this review based on their response.

Update 3/27/2017
I've upgraded my review to 4 stars based on the customer support received from Searon. I emailed the company (Searon) and within a couple of hours they had agreed to refund my purchase price and offered the same or any similar product from them through Amazon at a deep discount. After a few technical email exchanges I selected a digital rather than mechical hour meter from Searon. They refunded my money and provided a claim code which I used for the Amazon purchase. I should have the new meter in two days. I'll update the review again based on the installation and performance of the new meter
