I got the King/California King size comforter for my fairly large queen size mattress with a pillow top. It fits pretty well. The corners of the comforter at the foot of the bed just touch the floor. Along the side of the bed and at the foot of the bed--aside from the corners--the comforter is a couple inches off the floor. I just put it on my bed yesterday, so I have only one night of experience with the comforter. It was comfortable. Not too heavy; not too hot. So far so good.
You can give away all your blankets and sleep well in all season !
