Good product, but not flexible enough to fit the hull shape of my kayak.
KentuckyGuy✓ Verified Purchase•September 4, 2023
This is a good product if if fits the hull shape of your kayak. I have a Native Watercraft Propel 13 kayak. It is over 100 pounds with the drive in place and at my current age (70) I find it hard to wrangle it into the bed of my pickup (or onto my trailer) without help. The hull shape of the kayak is a little unusual in that it is kind of a tri-hull design. Toward the back of the kayak it has a sharp keep with two channels on either wide. The first two trolleys that I purchased on Amazon did not work because of this. They just did not seat well on the hull. I thought there might be a chance for this trolley because it had those adjustable rollers which I thought would fit nicely into the channels. The trolley came very quickly and it was easy to assemble, although one of the plastic star nuts had the edge broken in transit. However, it was still useable, so no problem. The problem was that the roller did not adjust close enough so that I could fit the kayak over them. Check that, the narrowest fitting did work, but at that point the hull was sitting on the metal brackets. Not a good scenario. So I had to return the trolley. I think it is a reasonable alternative to those little squatty trolleys. It just did not fit my particular kayak. I see that another company has a similar system, but it is more adjustable (both height and width of the support bars). So I ordered that........the fourth one that I have tried.

Easy assembly, walked the canoe across the street into the lake. We'll check back after I've used it 20 times. Would like to know if the manufacturer would make a level up version with pneumatic tires and beastier materials. Not all ramps are nicely paved and I've been known to put the canoe in the water in a makeshift spot. Would like an off road, off ramp version.
Big Load, Big Cart
Hector Acuna✓ Verified Purchase•August 21, 2023
This is my second cart. I had been using a smaller cart for my 70 pound, 16.5 foot canoe. While it did the job, it was always a chore load and strap my tub onto it, often collapsing it and having to start over. Even before choosing the Seattle Sports ATC Cart I knew my next cart needed to have three improved features. First, a more stable platform for loading the canoe atop. Second, larger and easier to service wheels. Third, folding for storage. All three were satisfied by the Seattle Sports ATC Cart. The cart has a super-stable parking stand which keeps the cart in place while for loading. Often I paddle solo to fish and aside from the canoe I have to haul all my equipment down to the put-in site. The larger cart allows me to load all my stuff onto the canoe and transport everything at once without worries of tipping it over. The cart uses bicycle type wheels. Easy to service. I had trouble with my previous cart in finding an air pump nozzle that would fit in a very tight wheel space. Not the case with this cart, big air valve with plenty of clearance for any type of air pump. Replacement tubes are available at most department stores that have a bike section. The unit fords nicely to storage. This cart weighs more than my previous cart yet I still canoe with it on solo trips. I've also used a bicycle cable lock and locked it up near the dock when I needed the extra space in the boat. Good on most surfaces, with most difficulty in very soft sand but still capable. If you're rolling over lots of rocks or branches I recommend adding another tie strap to keep the boat and cart together. Big wheels roll over obstacles easily. This design is well suited for larger craft, canoes or heavy fishing kayaks.
Cheap wheels: update 11/27/22

Update 11/27/22:
I am updating my review and revising my rating in response to Seattle Sports exceptional (Five Stars!)
customer service.
The reason is that I contacted Seattle Sports directly and explained the problem. Even though they were not the seller, they were immediately responsive and shipped me replacement parts of better quality. There was a problem with the replacement shipment, and they addressed that promptly as well.
I've since made two five-mile round trip portages to the river over the same forest trails as before. The product performed exceptionally well.
Thank you to the Seattle Sports personnel who helped. You've won my brand loyalty.

For a number of reasons, it wasn't until yesterday that I finally got the chance to use my cart. I was on state forest trail coming back from a paddle on my local river as darkness fell. I was about halfway home when I started hearing a rattling noise. After about a little more distance as the noise increased, I stopped to look. The nuts on most of the wheel spokes had come loose. Several spokes had sheared off. Aided by my cellphone flashlight I hand tightened as many as I could. I had no choice but to continue. The photo above is what I found when I got home. Very disappointing. Amazon tells me that it's too late to return the product.

Great Little Cart

What a life Saver! When I canoe, its great to put it on wheels make the trip from the car to the lake in one trip with the cooler in the canoe. The only trick is finding the pivot point, so the wheel take 100% of the weight and all the user is doing is only pushing/pulling and steering with 1 or 2 fingers, when balanced correctly. The wheels fold in needing no tools, so we just fold in wheels and put in under the seat of the canoe while on the water. My girlfriend tied a 6 foot rope to it
The only down side we found are the tires are bike tires, like what you would find on a kids bike. We found in soft sandy conditions with a heavy load one tire will bog down in the sand and and other tire doesn't, so the cart moves under the canoe resulting in the wheels and canoe are not going in same directions. Its a simple fix, we just added a second ratchet strap. It came with one, which is ok for hard surfaces, like pavement, or packed dirt but soft sugar sandy surface, the wheels won't stay in place with the strap provided. A second is needed. I wish the tires were solid tires, as they tend to go flat when sitting in the shed for a few months, as any air filled tire would do. The kick stand while is handy for loading by yourself, its awkward to lift the canoe and kick the stand up or down. This is where having the second strap comes in handing as cart won't move when shifting load to one tire as moving the kick stand.
