The UPS powered up and has been working for a month. We have not experienced an outage. I have another 1500VA APC UPS which has worked well for us. I expect the new one will work as well.

Had to use the back up the second day I had it, worked perfectly. Since then it seems to be protecting my stuff nicely. Also, I have an old place with wonky wiring, and double wammied by brown-outs far too often. This device evens my source with no problems at all. I am really pleased.

I have been buying APC products for work since 1988. I have purchased thousands. They have solid product that last a long time. Once the batteries die it's easy to install replacements. I like the features they have in their products...auto-shutdown of whatever you have plugged into it especially. (DO NOT USE WITH LASER PRINTERS) The only feature I've never liked is the beeping when the power goes out. I never understood why they would bother. And muting on some of their systems is a hassle.
I've been buying these for home since 2001. I have one on every electronic item I have...all my TV's, satellite receivers, network equipment and computer. The actual Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) is almost always much longer than stated in the documentation. And, since I have purchased a few thousand over the years I can tell you that I have purchased VERY few that were dead on arrival or even died in less that a few years. They are a solid engineering firm!!
