Perfect study chair

I was so excited to order this and try it out. It had great reviews but I was still skeptical of if it actually would have any back support. I weigh about 184 (I'm 5'4") and it ended up being perfect, even when I adjust it to lean back more I don't feel like it's any less supportive.
I have a cute Japanese-style table in my bedroom so it's low, and I used to sit on the floor to do homework on it but at some point I ended up just sitting on my bed because the floor got uncomfortable. I finally started looking around for a chair to use and this ended up being a great decision. I can comfortably sit for a few hours and do homework without my back killing me.
It's a lot lighter than expected. I can easily carry it in one arm. It has a light smell after opening and after 24 hours it's faded a ton so I don't doubt it'll go away completely soon. The back support is really good. I like to sit upright for work, so it's great for that, but earlier today I brought it to another room and had it at a different angle and it was nice to just lounge in, so it would be good for reading, playing video games, etc.
The bottom support is cushiony but I can tell that after a while it might start to firm up so I might end up adding another cushion in a few months but for now it doesn't bother me at all.
Overall, a really great buy. I'm very happy :)

I grew up in Japan and half of my family still lives there. Everyone had these types of chairs, we had four in our household. I'm in the U.S. now. After throwing my back out and needing to sit on the floor more often (also because I have a toddler and seven month old baby) I needed a floor chair for back support. I remembered these from my childhood and instantly ordered one. I've had it for a few days now and I LOVE it. I am always on the floor and use this to nurse my baby in, play with my toddler, read, and watch TV. I love to lean back in it, reminds me of my childhood when I would flip back & forth in it. Mine didn't have a "factory smell" out of the box. Great packaging.

I'm only giving this four stars instead of five because the chair had a definite chemical/factory odor when I received it. It took three days of airing it out outdoors for a few hours each day for the odor to dissipate.
Once I got past the smell, the chair is perfect for what I need. I have lower back problems including two bulging disks which make it hard for me to sit on the floor for any extended period of time. I was looking for something that wouldn't take up much space but would allow me to sit on the floor to play with our twins, or sit at their bedsides on the nights they can't fall asleep (they are in toddler beds which are low to the ground). This floor chair is perfect! It provides me with the back support I need and I love how it's adjustable so I can sit up straight or even recline a bit.
I've seen quite a few questions that ask, and this particular chair does NOT fold in half for storage, but it does lay completely flat so it could be stored under a bed or stood upright inside a closet.

I love it! Exactly what I need for my studying style. Since I have a chronic back pain, Ive come to customize my own working desk-office style that works best for me. Thus, Ive spent a lot of money just to find what works best for me. Because I had a massager pad with heat for full back or neck, I need something that support it without having siting against the wall and thus I can sit/work and have massaged anywhere I want without worrying about the back-support issue.
