Work as great as all my American hunter feeders in the past best thing no more charging batteries been going 2 weeks now no problems spins just as good as 6 volt feeders
but overall I'm pretty pleased with it

Was a little skeptical at first about buying a feeder that operates off 4 AA batteries...but overall I'm pretty pleased with it..it works well and easy to program with supplied directions..the spinner plate works but could be upgraded ..but upgrade would possibly shorten battery life..legs on the feeder I built are 5 ft long and the feeder shoots corn out in about an 8-10 ft radius..overall its a good deal on this feeder will probably buy another
Economy model, smaller than most, but cheap!

Just mounted this to a drum and placed into the field. I will update this review as the season progresses.
Observations:
1) Varmit guard cage is wishful thinking on this one. If a big racoon gets a law on it then it will either reach the spin plate and chunk corn or just pull it off all together.
2) Spin plate is a flat platter style with two bump ridges to toss corn. They work but not as efficiently as metal ones that have a short scoop design that throws the corn out in a stream like spiral.
3) Digital timer is straight forward and easy to program. It is, however, not enclosed. I made sure it did not face directly into the evening sun, but not sure how it will hold up during rain or ice storns.
Also, there is no display of the battery status. So, this is definitely a weak point. I will have to check it weekly until I figure out what the avg. life cycle for the AAs will be.
It is still a 6v system, and I'm sure that's one of the reasons for the low resistance spinner plate, to extend the run time of those AAs.
