I play but I don't get into all the 'ratings' stuff. I will say that this textured paddle is a favorite of mine. Solid center hits. Nice weighting and balance. But, more than all that, if your game includes cuts and spins, (for either fun or competitive challenge) you might want to give this a try. Heck, even if you're a top player it might be something to include as an option. My last one I used for over 3 years. It started to chip around the edging. I think the price allows a new one every few years.
Singles Not Doubles, Power Not FInesse

As a 4.0 singles/doubles player I tend to hit very hard. Most poly core paddles focus on touch and feel which means they dont have any power. The Nomex core gives the Atomic 2.0 a ton of power. At the net however, the core creates difficulties in dinking. I tried several paddles under $75 and the Atomic was the best of the bunch, but it does have limitations.

My partner purchased a $160 paddle and it feels totally different and honestly much better. The Atomic does superb in driving the ball but it lacks the ability to accurately dink or effortlessly hit 3rd shot drops unless you practice relentlessly. I'd highly recommend this paddle for certain games against certain players but in a doubles situation with lots of dinking and kitchen play, there are better paddles.

For daily rec play, this may be the best paddle on the market, but in tournaments you might as well spend the extra money and be done with it forever.
This is a good paddle

Bought this paddle on a recommendation from a player at the courts. A friend got some starter paddles that were terrible so it was time to get with the program. This paddle suits me very well. I've been playing for 8 months now and have become very competitive. I recently bought a second as a backup and a loaner if someone needs or if I break one. This paddle feels so comfortable. The grip and weight are perfect for me.
While I might consider a different paddle for "more power", I just love the feel of this one. Maybe there will be another in my future? But for now, this is an extension of my hand and super comfortable. You can get power off of this paddle, but you need to put more into it from a few others I have tried. The problem with those was ... long handles. Tad heavy. Big grips. So, I have ZERO issues. You will love this paddle. I know i do. Good luck!!!
Plays well, but hits hard

Fantastic paddle for someone who's been playing for awhile or wanting a paddle that can launch the ball. I've been playing for awhile and this paddle is a lot different than others I have used. It is much stiffer and the slighted hit will send the ball pretty far. I enjoy it cause to send line drives right above the net takes very little energy. Was definitely a learning curve. It also has amazing texture for those who like to spin the ball. Would definitely buy again, especially for the price!!!
