This is made out of beautiful material and could easily be on the buffet table, holding hot food or even a salad. I bought it in several sizes so that it would stack easily. I'd buy it again.

Note that the picture of the guy wearing an apron and holding this dish is most assuredly NOT holding the actual item that's for sale. That must be a different model that's twice as big and it's a bit deceptive having that photo there.

That being said it's nice for a side dish that would serve two. Or it would hold two small chicken breasts.

I have quite a few Emile Henry pieces and this one must be from a budget line. It's completely covered in the same color, even on the bottom, and there's a large EH on the bottom instead of the more familiar clay-colored bottom with their information. I guess it's cheaper to just spray everything the same hue but it really looks like of ugly and mass-produced.

Emile Henri casseroles are simply the best. Easy clean is even better.

I was using a baking dish by another, very well-regarded company that did not meet the product specifications. To my dismay, I discovered that the other baking dish could not withstand a 450 degree oven. It virtually exploded. In spite of this unfortunate experience, I was intent on replacing the flawed product and did a great deal of research, including Amazon reviewers.
I chose the EH baking dish finally, based in large part on the Amazon description of the item and in spite of a poor review based on the outside dimensions of the baking dish and not the inside dimensions. With all due respect to the negative review, I ordered the baking dish. It has turned out to be all that was promised in the item description: size (inside as well as outside measurements); heat range (up to 520 degrees) it can withstand; durability and scratch resistance; range of use (oven to freezer); and easy clean (yes!); high-fired Burgundy clay; and a scratch-resistant extremely hard glaze. The sides and bottom of the baking dish also are much thinner and, therefore, lighter in weight than most other baking dishes of the same type. Finally, the price is more than reasonable for this item. Good cookware costs more because it IS good!
Weaknesses? At this point I cannot find one weakness. I love fine cookware (I use only All-Clad, Creuset, et.), and the Emil Henry baking dish fits more than satisfactorily into that category.

I love this dish and brand. It's made in France which is a plus for me. The glaze is beautiful and it cleans up nicely.
Would sure stick with this brand.
