Not made of stainless steel

The description of being made of stainless steel is flatly untrue, as other reviewers have also noted. The material is chrome plated, common steel and rusts almost immediately if placed in the dishwasher. I purchased this only on the basis that it was stainless steel.

Fell apart after a few uses

Bought two pairs. Stamped EKCO Made in China. EKCO must not have must pride in the quality of the stuff they sell under their name. One pair fell apart at the hinge rivet after about 10 uses. I didn't pay much, but anything other than maybe a buck is too much for these.
Don't meet at the end - huge gap, don't bother

I received a used/returned product. The tongs should do one thing - pick up stuff. Since they have a huge gap and appear bent, they don't pick up stuff. Probably why I got a returned product. Back they go. Cheap junk.
