Great glove for fish cleaning!
R. Miller✓ Verified Purchase•February 25, 2018
I go fishing as often as I can and usually end up have something to filet. Every once in a while I end up poking or nicking myself with my filet knife. I purchased these gloves and really like them. I generally only wear a glove on my left hand and hold the knife with my right hand. I like that the glove helps me grip the fish as well as protecting me from their sharp gill plates, fins and the sharp knife blade. The glove is pretty easy to wash after each use. I noticed that it does shrink a little after drying, but it seems to stretch back out enough to reuse without any issues. This is the only cut resistant glove I've tried, but it works exactly like I had hoped!
good tool for the kitchen

I like to sharpen the knives in home with whetstone when I get some time. And all the chef knives are very sharp. I normally cut the meat and prepare the food. My wife will process the meat if she want it very thin. Guess what, she hurt her finger every time she processed the meat. She even cut her nail the last time she did it. I got no choice and have to buy cut resistant gloves.
This gloves works very well. I used the knife and try to cut my finger while I am wearing the gloves. The knife does not go though and not even break anything. I pick the right size and the gloves fit both my hand and my wife's hand so well. I can actually hold the food material very well while cutting. It is a good tool for the kitchen. I wish I bought it earlier.

Cut through on first use with mandoline slicer

Cut right through the first time using it with my new Oxo mandoline slicer. If you're using this with something truly sharp like a mandoline slicer, you need to buy a higher level of cut protection.
Size chart was perfect though. I'll give it that.

Great accessory for cooking noob

I would definitely consider all of my family members entry-level cook. And very often we find ourselves accidentally cutting our finger skin or nail. Cutting is hard and we need this to protect ourselves.
This gloves is cut resistant which protects our skin from sharp items.
I consider this is useful on a daily basis as long as we need to cook for the family.
I also like to use this to make meat skewers because of the sharp wood sticks.

Ineffective and a Pain

Pretty much garbage. They are just fabric but also somewhat cumbersome. The very first time I used it, I was slicing with a mandoline and snagged the end of the middle finger on the blade. That made a half-inch hole. Useless.
They also are a little slick. I would never think of wearing one on the hand that held a knife, as that would be quite unsafe.
It also seems like they are not at all puncture resistant, so I wouldn't even think of using one to protect my hand while shucking oysters (as depicted in the photos).
Then, apparently, it seems one needs to put these in the wash after any use. Not at all worth the trouble.
I'm returning these.
