I use these safety glasses when carrying out yard work with power equipment (e.g., lawn mowing, leave blowing, chain sawing, etc.) The design provides eye protection both in the front and on the sides. These safety glasses worked well for me for over-eyeglasses use -- very comfortable fit for me. It should be noted that my face is somewhat small and narrow and my eyeglasses are somewhat toward the small size. Hence, these safety glasses might not necessarily be good for those with large faces and oversized eyeglass frames.

Scratch resistance is typical for this type of plastic. If you are careful with them, you can avoid larger scratches that may obstruct your vision. Of course, fine scratches are pretty much inevitable over time with this type of plastic.
