I've had the SilverOnyx Air Purifier for a couple of weeks. I bought it because my wife is a smoker. The smell of the cigarette smoke was awful. When it arrived (as advertised) I put it to use immediately using the automatic mode. The sensor showed the air quality in my home was at and above the 300 (dangerous) level. Within an hour or so the reading was reduced to the 10-20 level. The only downside to the automatic mode is that when the motor runs at the 5 speed level the unit is loud. I learned I could easily switch to the manual mode and run the air purifier at a quieter 2 to 3 speed level. The downside of the purchase is that my wife and I had a come to Jesus meeting over smoking in the house. After seeing the really bad air quality level, she now smokes outside, so the air purifier is only used periodically to check air quality or when we cook certain foods.

Really impressed with how quickly this improved air quality. The built in ppm reading showed 37 when we first turned it on, and the next morning it was reading 3. There was a noticeable difference in the smell of my teenage sons bedroom, and he says he slept better, presumably thanks to reduced allergens. Very happy with the purchase.

We've had 2 of these for a few weeks now, running 24/7. Bought these after my Oion died completely, beyond repair (parts shot off the circut boards inside the unit, causing more damage than could be fixed). I have multiple lung conditions and severe allergies. Getting the allergens out of the air helped my cough. I love how the light changes color to indicate air quality. We leave it on auto so it will adjust the fan as needed. I take several nebulizer breathing treatments daily, and when I do the fan kicks up on high. I didn't realize how much of my breathing medication was getting into the air across the room until these detected it and started filtering it out. Great for homes with families where someone needs breathing medications, so only the person who needs the medication is recieving it, and no one else. I also love the feature to check filter life. Easy to set up and use. Covers around 600 sq. ft., so we put one at each end of the house.

really nice air purifier. tired of second hand smoke in my house i use this unit in my family room and when my wife smokes the sensor turns the speed up to high until the smoke is filtered away then lowers it,s speed. when it on low speed it is very quiet and on high speed much louder but tolerable.. Instructions say the filter should last 6 months so i will be waiting to test this out and at $30 for a replacement filter it would be worth it to keep my room fresh.
Just buy this one, been through many others.

I was skeptical since so many I try are useless but I woke up to the air in my apartment smelling clean. I really like the light change, mine was red at first indicating dirty air quality but not anymore. Overnight it went from red to blue and the numbers came down a lot, even more so when I ran for the second night. I have a 700 s/f apartment and run this in the bedroom with the door shut and it cleaned out that room really well then I put it in the main area overnight and it cleans that area well also. You can turn all the lights off the unit after it's set so it doesn't glow in the night which is a fantastic feature. I seriously think I'm going to get a second one.
