The pen writes great and makes a great gift! I used to go to a church that used a movie theatre for the services. It was dark and I sure could have used the light up pen then to take notes. I will be buying more later in which I plan to give away as graduation gifts. College students will appreciate it when taking notes in an auditorium and doing homework late at nite. You can even engrave the pens! The light is very bright.

I have purchased 4 different light pen brands, searching for an all-in-one pen that would work in my line of work. I'm a military helicopter instructor and most of my time is in the cockpit at night with NVGs. The pen's overall quality, feel, and LED tip is by far the best I've purchased so far. The product's price is the best out there.
However, having to remove the cap to expose tip and activate the LED creates two problems. First: The user should be able to operate the pen with one hand by clicking or twisting cap. Second: The is a potential risk of cap being pushed out by the internal light contact spring which will result in LED not working and leaving Foreign Object Debris (FOD) in the aircraft. I understand this pen's targeted user is not a military helicopter pilot, but it is the best I found so far that provides an all-in-one approach.

This is a very nice pen, well -balanced, feels good in the hand. The light works well (which is more than I can say for other brands I tried), and every person I have shown the pen has loved it. The only negtive is that the light might be a little too bright. But I will still buy more for stocking stuffers

The pens feel very durable. A few pens have occasional issues with the light not wanting to come on or stay on, but typically easily resolved by rotating the cap or taking it off and putting it back on. Also some of the caps don't "grip" the pens very well, but a gentle squashing of the pen helped them stay on better, and also helped the light not wanting to work (in some cases). As an IT professional, it's great to have a pen at work to write and also be able to verify small serial numbers in low light situations. Using the pen with the light on takes some getting used to as it is very bright!
I haven't used the stylus cap very much, but it worked fine the few times I did use it.
Overall, these pens make great gifts for friends and co-workers (my wife added names using her vinyl cutter -- looks great!)
