Great hum cancelling and great sound on my Fender Jazz Bass Marcus Miller signature
Valentino✓ Verified Purchase•October 29, 2023
I mounted these on my Japan-made Fender Jazz Bass Marcus Miller signature, 4 strings. They sound really good and they cancel hum really well. They are taller than standard jazz pickups, so you might want to take that into account when you assemble them. On my bass, I used the micro-tilt adjustment to increase the height of the neck with respect to the body, to give more space to the pickups. I also used a VERY THIN foam under these pickups, to keep them as low as possible. Now the bass is perfectly setup, with the following string-to-magnet distances, measured by keeping the last fret pressed:
Neck Pickup: E=3.5mm G=3.25mm
Bridge Pickup: E=3.00mm G=2.75mm
Neck Pickup: E=3.5mm G=3.25mm
Bridge Pickup: E=3.00mm G=2.75mm

Much taller than stock Jazz Bass pickups
Edwin J. Harris✓ Verified Purchase•September 2, 2023
I installed these in a 2001 American Deluxe Jazz Bass. They're are about 3/16" taller than the stock pickups. I had to remove the stock brass plates from the bottoms of the pick up cavities so they would fit. I also had to remove the lead wires and re-solder them so they come from the top side of the bottom plate of the bobbin. Otherwise, the radii of these wires would keep the pickus up too high in the cavities. Bottom line is I have them slammed down as far as they will go in the cavities and I have a marginally acceptable pick up height. There is certainly no room for the foam they include to spring these up from the bottom. There is no room for adjustment. I will route out 1/8" or so from the bottoms of the pick up cavities to get some room to adjust.
So far, I'm pleased with the tone. They are quiet, as advertised. I need to play more to figure out the best set up on these.

I replaced the stock pickups in my Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass these pickups are way better. Noise is pretty much non existent and I've now got a much wider tonal range. The bridge pick up has more bark and my tone knob now actually gives me treble. Really am glad I got these!!
